May 14, 200719 yr METS take 2/3 from the brewers to stay within 1/2 game behind the braves. Different pitcher rotation will be coming as Pelfrey was sent to AAA. METS had 3 true center fielders today making up the outfield with Alou injuried and Green taking the day off. Easley another good day at the plate and Perez again looked sharp throwing a 1 hitter.
May 17, 200719 yr METS get 5 in the 9th with 1 out and beat cubs 6-5. Tough luck on the part of the cubs in this series as they lose 2 game late. METS move to 1.5 games ahead of the braves. SUbway series with those yanks up next.
May 23, 200719 yr METS lose opener to the braves after they played so well in the subway series. Davis looked good for the braves with pitching and hitting a hr. Sosa got a taste of how well the braves play against the METS. METS look to turn it around tonight. Galvine against Smoltz.
May 24, 200719 yr Ouch...the game tonight...was the typical game you will see between the Mets and anyone they face this season..the rest is simply fodder for conversation.
May 24, 200719 yr Ouch...the game tonight...was the typical game you will see between the Mets and anyone they face this season..the rest is simply fodder for conversation. You're joking right? The Mets are not great enough team to shutout games and call them a "typical" game, and will not play that way every night. I guarantee you that Smoltz shuts down that Met offense tonight and that's really how the Mets are.

May 25, 200719 yr METS lose to braves again 2-1 as smoltz gets win 200. METS lose 2 out of 3 to the improving braves. METS can not not get over the hump with those braves, but on the bright side, even though braves have dominated the METS this season, the METS continue to lead the NL East.

Kudos on the shutdown by Smoltz....but by saying that's really how the Mets are...is discrediting a hall of famer's ability...which is it...an average Smotlz being able to go the distance against a weak Mets team...or an amazing freak named John Smoltz...blitzing the most offensively talented team in the majors? You can't have it both ways.

IMO it sould be the Mets pitching thus far that overshadows the Mets hitting. Mets are good, don't get me wrong, I just don't think they have the all-star lineup everyone says they do.

Maybe I do not get on enough web sites or whatever the reason, but I do not know where "everyone" says they have an all star line up. Perhaps talk shows, pre game shows or whatever the source...I am here to tell you that the METS are not the greatest thing since sliced bread. That being said I agree that the METS are very good. I also submit that the braves have dominated the METS this season. In fact, when they play the METS, the braves look very good. Perhaps the METS still feel inferior to the braves and just do not play as well or perhaps the braves are that good, if not better. The METS pitching has for the most part exceeded early predictions, while some hitting issues have remained a mystery. It is my opinion that if the hitting comes around the METS may be the best in the East. Either way the METS and the braves represent IMO the best in the NL and if the METS can not carry the NL east to the series, then Go BRAVES.

Their defense is super stellar....their offense is a great, great offense...the season as a whole will show that.
May 25, 200719 yr Their defense is super stellar....their offense is a great, great offense...the season as a whole will show that. I never said anything about their defense. I just said their offense is not a "stellar" offense! If I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I'll admit it at seasons end.
