June 18, 200719 yr I couldn't think of a good place to put this, but I noted Wang went 8.2 innings before being replaced. If the pitcher has gone 8.2, there is no one on, and he has a 6 run lead, don't you owe it to him to give him a shot to go the distance?
June 20, 200719 yr Hey are you all really Mets fans, or are you just sick of the Reds? A fan since 1967...been with them in the worst and best...Also a JET and KNICK fan from as far back...Stick with them all in good and bad times...No use for fair weather fans...
June 20, 200719 yr This team is driving me crazy...Right now if you are a MET fan you better be hope that the rest of the division continues to fall on hard times as well. As Peter Gammons and former METS GM Steve Phillips said it comes down to two things Beltran and Delgado not getting the hits when runners on and some very suspect pitching at the most worst time. But, give credit also to some very good twins, yankees, phils dodgers...well you get the picture.

But if you want to be considered a good team you have to be able to compete with good teams, not go what is it now 3-14 against them. The "good" NL teams have really been exposed by the AL teams in interleague play with Colorado (9-5) and Philadelphia (8-7) as the only NL teams above .500 that have produced winning records against the AL.

I could not agree with you more. No question the METS are not a good team right now against not only AL teams but within the National League itself. I hope to see them turn it around before the rest of the NL East gets hot. I must say the phils are a concern as I think they have some very good baseball left in them. My concern also is not so much what they are doing against the AL, but in general how they are playing and losing games right now.
June 23, 200719 yr METS win 9-1 over the a's as Glavine gets 296 and more important broke a dry spell for wins. Glavine also had a good night at the plate. With the win and another loss by the braves the METS are up 2.5 games and with the way the rest of the NL East is playing (along with the METS), might be a comfortable lead.
June 24, 200719 yr Well it may not be pretty, but the METS win 1-0 off David Wrights double in the bottom of the 9th. Castro had hit a double in the 9th and Wright scored him with his double. I beleive the METS were the only team in the NL East to win tonight.
June 24, 200719 yr ....The Mets sweep the A's....nice work boys....exorcise sum revenge on St. Louis next.
June 24, 200719 yr ^ As well they should do as bad as they've been playing. It wouldn't shock me if soon they were in fourth.
June 26, 200719 yr Wow Reyes admitted to ESPN that Gomez is indeed faster than he ( Reyes) is. Now that is a race I would like to see.
