Braves win 8-0 over the Nationals tonight. Tim Hudson pitched very strong for the Braves and so far he is having a great year. In both of his outings he has not given up a hit until at least the 5th inning. Tonight he pitched 7 innings allowing 2 hits and no runs. The Braves had homeruns from Andruw Jones, a solo shot, and Jeff Francouer, a two-run shot(I think). Braves face the Nationals again tomorrow with Chuck James pitching for the Braves. Atlanta moves to 6-1 for the season and will look to win their 3rd straight series of the season.

Braves are baeting the Nationals 5-1 so far with the game in the top of the 8th. Chipper Jones hit his first homerun of the season, a 2 run shot. In the bottom of the 7th Andruw Jones hit a 3 run homerun to put the Braves up 5-0. Chuck James pitched 6 innings gave up 5 hits and had 5 strikeouts. If it holds up the Braves will move to 7-1 and if the Mets lose the Braves will be in sole posession of 1st place.

Chop. I love the Braves. Where is Dale Murphy, Mark Lemke, and Jeff Blauser when you need them. Cox my man, getting the young bucks going early.

The Braves are playing pretty good so far this season...

They're off to their best start ever at 7-1.

Are you sure that's their best start ever? I'm pretty sure they won their 1st 13 games one year, and the reason I'm prety confident of it is because the last two or three wins of that streak came against the Reds.

Meant one of their best starts ever. :thumb:

Hampton has been injury proned...how much are the Braves paying him?

His pay is almost 15 million but I'm pretty sure the Rockies pickup 10 million of that.......

The Braves actually are paying his contract now but with his injury his insurance will pay most of what he is due this year!

Braves lose to the aforementioned worst team in the NL East

Braves come on strong once again when Tim Hudson is pitching. After a couple of below average years of Tim Hudson he changed his offseason workouts and worked on his split finger fastball and has become the dominant pitcher the Braves traded for. He pitched 7 innings allowing 6 hits 1 run 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. The 1 run he allowed came in the first when Hanley Ramirez singled, stole second, advanced to 3rd on an infield single and scored on a double play.

The wheels started coming off for Marlins pitcher Scott Olsen in the 3rd inning when he walked Tim Hudsn to put runners on 1st and 2nd. He then walked Kelly Johnson and Edgar Renteria followed by hitting a run scoring single and Tim Hudson scored on an error by Miguel Olivo. Chipper Jones then hit a 3 run homerun and the next time up Andruw Jones hit a 2 run homerun.

Braves are 8-3 on the season and will travel to Washington to take on the Nationals with Chuck James (2-0 0.82era) pitching for the Braves and Williams (0-2 4.91) going for the Nationals.

After losing their first road game of the season the Braves bounced back behind a strong pitching performance by John Smoltz in the 7th inning Smoltz started to struggle but was relieved by the revamped bullpen which held on to a 5-4 lead and the Braves ended up winning 6-4 after an insurance homerun by Chipper Jones in the top of the 9th inning.

Braves win against the Cubs tonight with a score of 8-6. Braves led 4-1 early but the Cubs wouldn't lay down and die. They ended up taking the lead at one time 6-5. But the Braves rallied in the bottom of the inning scoring 3 runs to secure the lead for good. Wickman closed the 9th for the save and the Braves will finish out the finale of the 2 game series tomorrow evening!

Braves are 10-4 tied for best record in NL.
