Did anyone, just see the play Smoltz made on Glavine. Backhanded a ball, almost at the 3rd base line, pivoted and threw out Glavine, by 10'....amazing play.

It really was....I though Glavine would have been busting it a bit more though.

Bobby just got thrown out....wow.

Braves beat the Muts 9-6 today in New York taking 2 of 3 in the weekend series. Braves trailed late but clutch 3-run homeruns by Edgar Renteria in the 7th and Kelly Johnson in the 8th sealed the deal for the Braves. Braves regain first place and head to Florida to take on the Marlins!

Freaking Dontrelle.....

The Braves just can't solve this guy.

They've had trouble with the Marlins in general over the past couple of years. The Braves had a chance in the 9th with the tying run on 2nd but McCann struck out swinging to end the game.

Braves lose a close one to the Marlins. D-Train pitched on the same day as his kids birth and done pretty well. Game was tied at 2-2 when Olivio hit a 3 run homerun, which was part of a 6 run inning for the Marlins. Willis also helped his cause by hitting a triple and later scoring a run. Braves trailed 8-5 in the top of the ninth, and with 2 outs Chipper Jones hit a solo homerun, Andruw doubled then advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch. Francouer followed that with a double to bring the score to 7-8 but it ended when pinch hitter, Brian McCann, struck out on a 3-2 count.

Braves fall to 12-7 and .5 games behind the Mets for 1st in the NL East.

Braves having trouble yet again with the Marlins. After building a quick 4 run lead Mark Redman gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the first. Braves are up 7-6 right now but have had plenty of chances to blow out the game. Nice bullpen work by both teams tonight!

Braves win against the Marlins tonight by a score of 11-6. Braves starter, Mark Redman, had yet another rough outing since joining the Braves, but the offense kept up with the Marlins. Braves went up 4-0 in the top of the 1st but a run and a 3 run homerun by Cody Ross quickly turned it to a 4-4 game. In the 2nd Braves jumped ahead again leading 6-4 but in the bottom of the 2nd Cody Ross hit a 2 run double to tie the game at 6-6. That's all the Marlins would get because the Braves bullpen only allowed 1 hit over the last 5 1/3 innings in the game. Braves went up 7-6 on a sac fly in the 6th and added some insurance runs in the top of the 9th from RBI singles from Pete Orr, Kelly Johnson and Edgar Renteria.

Braves move to 13-7 still .5 games behind the Mets, and The Marlins fall to 9-11.
