April 26, 200719 yr Wickman could be blowing his first save here..... EDIT: I see by RP's post that he just did.
April 26, 200719 yr Hudson was left in too long. He gave 8 solid innings, but he should have been pulled after the first hit.
April 26, 200719 yr Jeez, Wickman blows the save, and now he'll take the loss. Wow. Well, that sucks.
April 26, 200719 yr Author Cannot believe this happened tonight. Braves, IMO, left Tim Hudson in too long. 8 innings would have been good enough with the bullpen we have now. Hudson left the bases loaded in the 9th with no outs and Wickman came in and gave up a 2 run single then another single that scored a run to tie the game at 3 and the winning run for the Marlins scored on a wild pitch! Horrible finish tonight when they had the game in hand!
April 27, 200719 yr Worth noting that Smoltz has signed on for the next two seasons with an option for 2010, which is great!
April 28, 200719 yr Wow, Wickman is really struggling now. Second straight game that he has had a bad outing. This time he gives up three runs in the bottom of the 9th, and now the Braves are only up 9-7 after entering the inning up 9-4. As I type, the tying run is a 3-2 count at the plate and if he gets on, the potential winning run will come up.
April 28, 200719 yr Aaaand they walk the winning run on. 9-7, men on first and second, and the winning run, the leading hitter in the league, comes to the plate.
April 28, 200719 yr Holliday takes the first pitch deep and Francoeur catches it at the wall. Braves win, and they retake the division lead by one half game. Whoopedee doo.
April 28, 200719 yr Author Yeah DF I can't believe Wickman is strugging like he is. Luckily we have a solid bullpen this year to help us out. Chipper Jones is really hitting the ball well and to all parts of the field. Great win for the Braves tonight!
April 29, 200719 yr Author Braves beat the Rockies tody, Chipper Jones with another good day. John Smoltz struggled early but got in a grove and went 7 strong innings and finished with 8 strikeouts. Braves win 6-2.
April 29, 200719 yr Author Braves currently losing to the Rockies 5-2 in the 6th but have runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Kyle Davies still having control problems this year and will probably be sent to the minors after the game to get his control problems fixed. Scratch that, Scott Thorman continued his good game by hitting a 2 run single making him 3-3 on the day with 3 RBI's. Runners on the corners now with 1 out. Tie game 5-5.
