July 7, 200719 yr Great game by Lohse, I think that I would be safe in saying that he is overdue. As for the Reds, they seem to be playing with a little more desire since the manager change. I am not calling to remove the interim tag at all, just maybe showing what a deadbeat manger Narron was (he may have quit on the team). All the problems certainly coud not be blamed on Narron just that I believe that players feed of a managers attitude.
July 7, 200719 yr This is just a thought and question......Does anyone think that there would be any way to get Brando Webb in Cincy? With his sinker imo his style is taylor made for GABP. If so, what are opinions on what it would take - trade wise? I do not know where Webb is at in his current contract or anything and wasa just wondering.
July 7, 200719 yr Great to see Griff get #586.....The guy is on a tear this year, and showing the Cincy fans just a glimpse of what they've been missing...

He just signed an extension January of last year. 19.5 million over 4 years, so he is essentially locked up through 2009 and there is an option for 2010. He is only 27, so you can't say NEVER, but it wouldn't be able to happen anytime soon. Would be nice though.

It would be great to see Webb in a Reds uniform but I think he stays a Diamondback for as long as he wants. As Homeless Camel mentioned, he just signed a nice contract but in todays wild world of sports anything is possible. We can always hope.

July 7, 200719 yr It's a shame he got hurt all those years. Just imagine him and Bonds going at the HR record neck and neck this year. Do you think the Reds may have stayed in contention last year, had Jr stayed healthy and played in top form?
July 7, 200719 yr Do you think the Reds may have stayed in contention last year, had Jr stayed healthy and played in top form? Probably.
July 7, 200719 yr Do you think the Reds may have stayed in contention last year, had Jr stayed healthy and played in top form? It was amazing that they were in first place in the division, at least tied, they had a 4 or 5 game in the wild card going into that west coast road trip. Just unbelievable that after that road trip they were behind 4 games in the wild card and like 7 games out of the division or something awful.
July 7, 200719 yr Tonights game should be a good one to watch. Homer Bailey going for the Reds and a local kid (Ashland, Ky.) in Brandon Webb going for the D-Backs. I envy cvillecat, he will be there tonight.
July 7, 200719 yr Do you think the Reds may have stayed in contention last year, had Jr stayed healthy and played in top form? Considering they were still in it up to the last weekend, I would answer "without a doubt."
July 7, 200719 yr CTR: Transactions:Today the Reds placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Friday, IF Juan Castro (sprained right elbow); optioned to Louisville RHP Marcus McBeth; designated for assignment RHP Ricky Stone; recalled from Louisville RHP Kirk Saarloos and IF Jeff Keppinger; returned from a rehabilitation assignment and reinstated from the 15-day disabled list RHP Jared Burton (low back spasms).
July 7, 200719 yr So Mcbeth had an ERA approaching 8, no reason to send him back down. Now either Keppinger or Saarloos will struggle and will be sent down, while Mcbeth or someone else comes back up. I know the Reds aren't the only team to make moves like this, but it seems like once or twice a week they are sending guys back up or back down. Just unreal.

July 7, 200719 yr I don't like this benching E-5 or Hobbs every other day, I don't care how much the Reds keep winning.
