He has done some good things, and he seems to have a clue what it will take to build a decent contender. But he has done some not so great things too... I thought you weren't that big of a fan of Ross, Bray has given them nothing, Majewski less, the extension of Narron (a lifetime loser) for a couple of good months of baseball, the extension of Coffey (a lifetime of not so great numbers), Stanton, keeping it Rheal, I'm sure others could add to the list. My original point was I would have liked to see Hamilton (looks to be a good move right now by Krivsky) help the major league club instead of the minor league club. He could have flown back yesterday and took the day to rest. Now we found out that Griff had the day planned off and Dunn has been sick for a few days. MHO is that he should have been here. If that means I'm a wanna be GM from my computer w/ nothing better to do than complain then so be it. I thought everyone was allowed opinions.

1. He's been reaching for help in the pen because other teams are flat out not giving up late inning arms any more. Go back to the point that the Reds did that on a regular basis before Wayne got here, and you see why the void hasn't been easy to fill.

 

2. Majewski and Bray have not helped, but do you expect Krivsky to have a crystal ball to see two young and talented prospects would end up hurt?

 

3. The Coffey extension is nothing more than a move to keep him out of arbitration. Again sure would have that crystal ball when working on the deal to know he was going to regress.

 

4. They did jump the gun on extending Narron a bit, but they were trying to build stability and the team was looking solid.

 

5. My only point on Ross was that he would be more of the player he is now than the one he was in his first 2 months here. I was right. I am fine with the money he makes for what he delivers.

 

6. When you take on a youth movement in the pen, you need guys that have been through the wars to help them learn. When it blows up all you can do is reduce their role or DFA. The Pen is a result of trying to make chicken salad out of chicken crap, and having to do so when the help on the market is minimal will produce hit and miss results.

 

7. On Hamilton all I gave you was Krivsky's reply. It was very reasonable, and it clearly did not hurt them team today in retrospect. Moot argument now.

I keep hearing about this Rome thing. Could the Reds be decent a few years from now? Sure. Have they pretty much blown for the last decade? Yes. My point is this team, today is awful. Some don't see it that way. I guess I am incorrect in thinking .380 team is poor. A lot of people seem satisfied with it.

 

Once again, I dare you to find me someone who doesn't think this team sucks. What most fans are holding their hat on is the fact that there are solid, improving young players both in the bigs and in the minors.

It's like ramming your head in to a wall. First it's no hope in sight for years. When that's blown up it's back to the obvious. FIFTEEN MONTHS and it's time to start over again. Brilliant...

Any fan should "expect there team to be a contender sometime somehow. Its been a long time and to see this team (possibly one of the worst ever) on the field is just a bit much. Until the fans demand more, there won't be more. it will be the same old same old. My son is a teenager and its a darn shame he can't experience some of the thrill I had when i was a kid. You guys think thats Ok then great for you. Frankly I miss the Reds

:thumb: I am in the group of saying that this team is terrible. I don't see the Reds getting any better anytime soon. Bad baseball is one thing, this is way beyond that.

You took a personal shot at me about the Hamilton situation. If you knew your starting RF was taking a rest and that your LF was sick you might have wanted to have your next best option in the same city as the rest of the team. If he really is in such bad shape that he can't travel, sit a day, play the next day, travel, and sit the next day he shouldn't be playing anywhere. I didn't think he needed to hit his 4th HR in AAA last night in Carolina was my original thought.

 

Krivsky has done some good and bad things since he's been here. Funny thing he gets credit for having a crystal ball on the good things, but the not so good ones he gets a break on the same crystal ball.

Can't really be shocked the Reds went on to lose the game. Their record in close games is awful.

 

Get a day off tomorrow and maybe they can come out Tuesday and end the road trip on a positive note.

There is when you can't grasp what it's going to take to get there. Reds win a few games and you are invisible. Things go wrong and it's like clockwork...

GT I see what you are saying and all and I tend to agree but this bunch has had more than a "bad stretch" every season or two. The Reds seem to stay in a bad stretch. We just do not have a good baseball team in any phase of the game (especially bullpen).............Period.
