All I am defending is the fact I think Krivsky is doing a lot of good in a situation that was brutal to step in to. No more. No less... I undertsand what you are saying, I guess that I am like others in that I get frustrated in going backwards with what seems like no improvement in sight. I have not blasted this front office management. I know that they are FAR better than past ones. I just want to see the Reds return to a team that at least has a chance to win. After last season I thought that they were on the doorstep of that (respectability) and this years edition is NO WHERE close.

June 4, 200719 yr As an outsider who doesn't give two flips either way whether the Reds win or not, I can see both sides. Fans see how quickly the Marlins and Diamondbacks won a World Series and want that for their own club. However, look at how they went about winning and where they have been since. GT is right when he said it's not a quick fix. The minor league system was in shambles, the scouting department was the worst in baseball, and the list goes on. Right now, the Reds suffer from the same problems that 80% of MLB teams are suffering through....a terrible bullpen. The 20% that don't have this problem are the teams that sit atop the division or are less than two games back. As someone who watches a lot of Central Division baseball and who believes we're seeing the fall of the mighty Cardinals right before our eyes, I'm curious to see how they spend their "found" money next year when the big contracts go away. I just hope they lose every game until then.... :lol: :lol:
June 4, 200719 yr For those who see no improvement in sight, I offer: Brandon Phillips Edwin Encarnacion Josh Hamilton Aaron Harang Norris Hopper These are five players seeing significant time at the major league level. All are quite young, and all will likely improve in upcoming years. When you consider these guys as something to build around, and then take the good young pitching in the minors that will be up with the big club in the next two years, I don't see how this isn't a source of optimism. And for what it's worth, I consider myself a realist (although most people mistake this for me being negative). If I can see the silver lining, why can't you?
