June 3, 200719 yr Author Not really I couldn't even tell you one of the sponsors beside the soft drink co. And believe me if there was a way I could help this franchise I'd do it. I have been a fan for a long time ( I remember the field next to 75) I have seen ups and downs in this time, but I am just tired of the length of this down period. Its been too long and to see the team get worse is just too much. I believe the false optimism in the spring has lent itself to this feeling of hopelessness. But thats where we are. And that's what I'm getting at. If you want it to change, you have to do it the hard way right now. Linder's intentions were good when he bought the team, but his decisions ran them in to the ground. He didn't know baseball, and he let Leather Pants ruin things from the ground up. But let's have it your way. Keep blowing it up after every bad 2 months. Then we can watch it be a 50 year disaster instead of 10. Awesome. Strap in...
June 3, 200719 yr Author So you're saying I second guess management all of the time. I don't think that's accurate. I do think that sometimes management and the manager make bad decisions. Sometimes I'll point them out. I make bad decisions every week that get pointed out to me by someone. Again am I not allowed to have an opinion? Have your posts been erased? Nope. Am I not allowed to have a counter opinion? Did you talk to Josh about how he felt before you jumped to a conclusion? Wayne did. Edge Wayne. Pretty simple really...

Who was the GM during the Reds last winning season? Who was the GM when The Red won 96 games and tied for the WC? It hasn't been 2 bad months. Its been a lot of losing seasons. So give Krivsky his 3 years, fine. But what happens if they are no better in 2009? You have no idea what that teams going to be like. I have the facts of .380 team this year and you have the hope of a better future. From what I can tell is that my team is real, yours is a hope and a prayer. Like you said in the grand scheme of things this is small potatoes, But I do hope to enjoy a world series team with my son. That would be nice

That would be nice For a every once in a great while team, Leather Pants was your guy. He was all about building for one year, and then having to start over when it was done. It would be a fun year and 5 bad ones. I didn't enjoy that much either...
June 3, 200719 yr Author What was the reason given for not bring Hamilton to Denver? "It didn’t seem like the wise and prudent thing to do to go through all that travel for one game. If he’d been eligible for Friday that would be a different," Krivsky said. "Based on everything he went through physically, it didn’t make sense to do it for one game. I'm sure I'll get criticized for that, but that goes with the territory -- have a little wider lens than one game, you’ve got to put it all together and it’s the smart thing to do."

However, as bad as this division is and as bad as I believe the Reds to be, ONE GAME could make a difference. We're saying that a flight to Denver followed by a flight to STL is too taxing on him? If so, he's not ready to play MLB IMO. Keep him on the DL and let him get his strength back.
June 3, 200719 yr Author Whens the next fun year? Its been a long time. Still depends on how long it takes to fix the pen. Next season would be nice, and in a bad division you never know. But I'd say 09 is more likely...

I think in a way management knows they don't have a shot this year and will manage to that. They won't come out and say that, though. I'd say all moves will be ones to benfit the club later rather than soon. It is what it is.
June 3, 200719 yr Have your posts been erased? Nope. Am I not allowed to have a counter opinion? Did you talk to Josh about how he felt before you jumped to a conclusion? Wayne did. Edge Wayne. Pretty simple really... I'm fine w/ a counter opinion. I took offense to the personal shot. Check what cshs has to say about the second part of your opinion.

June 3, 200719 yr Guys on baseball tonite pretty much laughing at the Reds. Kruk goes out on a limb and says blowing 6 run leads is one of the reason Reds are 14 games under.
