March 27, 200719 yr Been watching ESPN for a while and haven't seen a thing about. I just don't see that this is a done deal and ESPN not all over it. Skeptical... It's not a "done" deal simply because Billy has to sign the contract and he can't do so until the season is over so anything can still happen. Probably won't hear anything out of ESPN till it's over so I don't know. Nothing is completed till he signs his name to that contract, but when he does Lexington will be having one huge party!
March 27, 200719 yr Probably because he knew if he did want to come here and he waited for the season to get over with, it might take to long to get a deal done, and then try to still get a few of the recruits here before the signing period is up... It's about 10 days or so we're talking about. Is that worth every once you have worked for going into final 4 weekend when you know the school wants you and you want the school (if it's all true)? When it comes to recruiting.... Billy Donnovan....... Univeristy of Kentucky........ I don't think that will be a problem.

March 27, 200719 yr IF it's true, Im glad UK got the guy they want...It just seems odd to me that they would publicize something like this before Donovan was through playing ball...I don't know what rules could be broken (if any), but I hope no infractions have/will occur with this.

He might know that if he got this deal done now, he could start right away in making sure P.P. and Lucas do come here, and try to get maybe another one of his recruits that he had coming to Florida to come to UK as well...
March 27, 200719 yr Author If a contract has not been signed, but verbally agreed upon and the UF president said it was O.K. (as he said in an earlier interview) to talk to Billy D. (He said it was something the coach needed to listen to), I don't really see what kind of rule(s) could have been broken....
