March 26, 200719 yr I really don't think it matters... I think Billy will go where his heart is, no matter what the outcome of their season is. Hopefully he come's to Lex.
March 26, 200719 yr I really don't think whether they win it or not matters in the equation of if he stays or goes. But if he does repeat then that makes his financial stock even higher.
March 26, 200719 yr I think if they win it again it helps UK. What else could he do at Florida? Might as well start over somewhere new!! The $$$$$ might go up but I think the cats can get him if they want.
March 26, 200719 yr Hurt. UK is already poised to mortgage Rupp to get him. He can't go any higher with UK. With Florida, there's more money available for them to make the offer. The question is about will. You have to think being the first team to repeat in 15 years would help that will along.
March 26, 200719 yr Help. What else does he have to prove at Florida?? Why not go to the biggest basketball house in college basketball and build a new legacy there.
March 26, 200719 yr Hurt, and I can't see how anyone would say it'd help? If he wins again, he's building a legacy. That's not something you pick up and walk away from, IMO. No matter what's on the other side of the fence.
March 26, 200719 yr A bigger factor in Billy's decision IMO is the Jr. class at UF. Say Florida does win it all, and Noah and company decide to come back for a possible three-peat. No Coach would leave talent like that and as close as Donovan is to that group, I don't think there is any chance he leaves if that is the case. On the other hand, what if UF loses to UCLA and Noah, Horford, Brewer, and Green all declare. That means Billy will lose his top 6 players (counting Humphrey and Richard to graduation) and would basically be starting over just like he would do at UK. They key to Donovan coming to KY is Florida's Junior class.........
March 26, 200719 yr I don't think it really matters either way, it comes down to money. According to someone on Rome is Burning show, he said that Billy stays at UF and maybe eventually ends up coaching the Miami Heat. Either way, I will be thankful when next weekend gets here, so we can find out what is going on.

March 26, 200719 yr This is pure speculation and I do not have any link but I was just told that U.K. had put a 3.3. mil package on the table to get Donovan. Fla. would have to beat that if Donovan would want to come to U.K.. Right now he will always be playing 2nd fiddle to football in Florida now no matter how many titles or games he wins. At U.K. he would be top dog.........."the only game in town". Of course, this is all rumors and fun to discuss on here but there imo will obviously not be any talks untill after next weekend (Final4) with Donovan. As for if UF would win another title I really don't think that would enter into any decision by Donovan, imo it just boils down to if he is happy being 2nd fiddle at a scholl no matter what or if he wants to be "Top Dog", or Cat in this case. March 26, 200719 yr It would not play a factor at all IMO. Florida will not pay the kind of cash that UK will to Donavon simply because of Urban Meyer. They will not pay their basketball coach more money than the football coach. As I said in another thread, and I myself don't believe it, I've heard the offer may be as high as 30 mil over 6 years....If that's the case, no way does Donavon stay in Florida IMO.
