March 26, 200719 yr With all the rumors and speculation going around, I think that in the end it comes down to money. If that being the case, could and would UF be able to match the salary that UK could offer to Billy D??? Granted, we just got the money for a 30 million dollar practice facility, then I am sure we could get the money up to throw in his face.
March 26, 200719 yr There is absolutely zero question that the could. Would they? That's a question, although in MY opinion, just because it's Kentucky they'll pony up the cash. If Donovan comes to Kentucky, it's not because he couldn't cash in at Florida. Just my thoughts on the matter.
March 26, 200719 yr They could but in no way do I think they will. If UK truly offers Billy in the 3-4 million range and UF matches where does they leave them with Meyer. I don't think they could justify paying their BBall coach the same or more then they are paying their Football coach.
March 26, 200719 yr Not only do I think they have it, I think they spend it... :walk: Billy is getting a big fat raise...:sssh:

March 26, 200719 yr If he wins back to back titles they can. They still couldn't justify it and I guarentee you Meyer would stand for it. Their cash cow is football. Basketball to them is just something to do until spring football starts. They expect the same from their football program that UK expects from it's basketball.
March 26, 200719 yr I think Billy D will keep evryone on their seats... just so money will keep coming. I wonder if he has his own auction on Ebay...
March 26, 200719 yr Who knows if Billy will come or not, only time will tell but he's smart enough to play the game. He has had a contract on the table for a year now and hasn't signed it yet because of last year's players returning and now he's got the UK thing happening. He will most definately play both sides to get the most money, who wouldn't. I do think that the fact that UF is a major football schools gives UK an advantage. At UK, he would be king of everything and at UF he would be queen behind Urban Meyer.

March 26, 200719 yr He would be in the shadow of Rupp here at UK... Yeah, but Rupp has been dead for decades. Thats better than playing second fiddle to a LIVING legend.
March 26, 200719 yr If they REALLY wanted to, they could. They have a higher revenue than UK. A higher revenue? They seat 12,000 at their games and don't sell out even half of the OOC games, while UK seats 23,000 and sells out every game. I've heard this before, but for some reason I find it hard to believe. I think UK could offer just as much money as UF....

March 26, 200719 yr They sold out every game last year? I could be mistaken...I'm honestly not sure. I'd say they had to be close, considering they find a way to get 23,000 people to go to a midnight madness .
