Somebody needs to ask the Hazard Radio guys if Holmes was so bad how come Holmes (without Jefferson) went to Hazard and handed Hazard a butt whooping on their home court by 17pts. earlier this year?

I was very impressed with PT's defense. I haven't seen a guard hang with Dj like that all year and no big man has had a presence like that against Holmes. Mcclure did an oustanding job.

 

They just didn't have any answer for Hill.

The Hazard announcer must not have seen Fairdale vs S. Laurel. Not only was the game poorly played, but it looked to me like it was because no one could play. I expect they (Hazard announcers) will have a different take after the Holmes vs S. Laurel game as I expect Holmes to give them fits.

Because SL has a very smart team. They pass very well and handle the ball pretty also. I dont see them trying to match Holmes speed. They will walk the ball up the floor and try to force Holmes to play at their pace. Holmes needs to do everything they can to push the ball, but still get open shots.

For everyone saying this was a sloppy game, you need to realize it's because BOTH teams played outstanding defense. Holms hasn't seen defensive pressure like that all year but still managed to get the W.

Over exaggeration a little...But Holmes hadn't played a team like Tilghman that could athletically match up with them. Maybe I should have phrased it that way. My Apologies.

okay so SL slows it down after a Holmes bucket but Holmes pushes it up the floor after a SL bucket... I don't see why the assumption is being made that HOlmes will slow down because SL is... not that SL will speed up because of Holmes...

Another thing I didnt understand was why Steig took Bryon Wright out of the game. Wright dove for a loose ball and got the jump ball, then he was taken out. He was also Tilghman's only outside threat, but for the last 3:30 of the game Wright was on the bench.

I was thinking the same thing. He was the only guard that really impressed me offensively. Two shots, 2 3's.
