Tony P. has stepped up this year and did a great job. Is it my imagination or has he improved every year since he added Brent West to his staff much like Coach Hicks did when he added Willard? The Hounds should be the favorite next year.

 

 

I think all the Hound coaches do a nice job....they seem to work well together...small school Coach West, lol JV and 9th Coach McDaniel and the leader Coach P. I like to call it the Cumberland College connection. I think Coach P has evolved as a coach and will see many more regional and district championships before he hangs up the whistle.

Les. South’s pressure was a non-factor for the Redhounds tonight. I read in another post that you had a copy of the Corbin and Bell County game. Do you have a copy of this one? Could you verify if there were six players on the floor for South Laurel.

I agree. But when one kid gets a call that no other player on the floor gets it is a bit unusual. Both teams played well. Corbin had their chances and could not convert on their FT's....South about choked in the end. Did they have 6 guys on the floor for the last play? Some people said they did......maybe they were meaning 8? lol

He is a hard guy to guard when your not allowed to touch him. Corbin still had their chances though, so I guess thats the way it goes sometimes.

IMO the player I guess you are talking about was protected or whatever, but noone helped him hit that clutch shot with about 3 or 4 seconds left, a very good player who came through on a big stage. Great game by both teams could have gone either way, alot of talent on display. Both freshman centers will IMO will become forces inside when they get in better shape and stronger with age. Both are pretty good now.

Would they have been assessed a technical if the referees would have caught it? Who's responsibility is it to check the number of players on the court for each team?

They wouldnt of had the guts to call that even if they did see it! Man im still mad...starting to relax a lil bit lol:cry:

What about when he was fouled 80 feet from the basket when the Hounds had tied the game or when Hammonds pushed Wilson to the ground in the fourthtto set the big shot? or when Proffitt was underneath the backboard and got a two shot foul when he could do nothing with it, except leaning into a defender who had already established position?.....those are some questions I think are interesting Mr. Breeze.

Sometimes it seems like people read the newspapers and have some pre- conceived notions coming into a game. Hounds have nothing to hang their heads about. I think Cumberland, Corbin, Bell or South could have won the region if things were a bit different. South wins and advances. I am sure Coach P and company will continue to work and try to improve for next year. Sometimes the ball does not bounce your way. Overall a very fine tournament. The staff at CHS did all they could do to make things go smoothly. It is a pitty we do not have a neutral site with about 5,000 seats to play the regional each season.
