Just read it. Ouch. He backs it up with stats but still would make any UK fan flaming mad. Right now it is true, maybe that is why it stings so much.

Hes right. I has been a few years since the Cats were Elite but they will be back. I guess its easy to ignore years and years of being the best in the land. Florida has a lot of catching up to do. He should wait to write his next article until the Gators get half the Nation Championships that Kentucky has.

See. We UK fans are not so bad. 7 championships and all that basketball history and we are not nearly as obnoxious as the Gator man with his one championship. It is a heavy burden carrying all that glory; I don't mind sharing it with a starving Gator...for a little while.

He's petty, clearly vindictive and offensive, but I will give him creativity for getting all he can out of this really good Florida team's 2-year run. However, I'd like to hear from him when this batch, like Williamson and Co. at Arkansas during its great 2-year run, leave and they fall back to the pack while KY is still adding to its records.

 

Every SEC school has probably had one in its history - a 2-3 year run where they contend with UK's stature and proclaim themselves the new dog, but it comes down to longevity and tradition that cannot be scored on a 2-year sample.

 

To use the ACC for example, Ga Tech had its run with Mark Price, then Kenny Anderson, etc. but eventually took its seat behind Duke and UNC...Maryland rose up and won an NCAA title and a couple of conference trophies but has again taken its usual seat in the 2nd row (good but still obviously behind).

 

UF is really good, and I take nothing away from their progress, but get back to us in 10-15 years and see if their worst season is 20+ wins and a second round loss as an 8 seed to a 1 seed...I doubt it.

Wow! Was this guy Noah's role model on classiness or what? Gotta agree with everyone else. 1 title, big deal. Let's see the staying power of the program after the next few years and Donovan's eventual departure to the $$$$$$ of the NBA. (You know it's coming!!!) My favorite part is the guy is comparing scores from other games to show how bad Florida will crush everyone. THAT always works out well.

Florida better go ahead and enjoy it while they have a chance, because for a 13 year span UK pretty much dominated the SEC and now have had a couple down years. But a team like UK doesnt stay down long.

I like Billy but if we are obnoxious (and some of us are) how do you describe the man who is the subject of this thread? Certainly not a diplomat.

Here is my response, .. and this guy makes Noah look like a saint with his lack of class and dignity for an alleged sportswriter.

 

Enjoy your run in hoops. You are one of many SEC teams who have had excellent runs and then claim to be the new and undisputed king while trashing those who went before you. Comparing UF's accomplishments in basketball and not much unlike UK fans comparing their football accomplishments to UF. Not even in the same league!

 

So enjoy your successes. The Gators deserve to brag as they are the best in the SEC, dare I say the best in the country in hoops right now. When you get to anywhere close to the number of SEC and NCAA titles that the Cats have, then we will talk! Heck, you can't even match our brother UL Cardinal fans for hoops titles!

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I agree, when the boys at aliigator alley win 7 national titles, have more appearances in the NCAA tourney than anyone, Many final four's, win 40+ conference championships, 25(I believe) SEC tourney titles, have the number of all americans that U.K. has the he can talk. U.K. basketball is about history and tradition, not just a few years of sucsess. Of course, when you do not have and have never had those things (or anything close to it) I guess that you don't know how to handle it ................No Class Gators.
