Steelcurtain, I hear that the person with the correct point spread gets to serve the crow. I will be glad to serve your elegant fare. I will even provide an ice cold can of Shasta to wash it down! :D

NKYSportslegend also had a spread of 5. What say you, NKYSL, shall we dish it out to them?

 I say we do.

Gallatin by 5.

I was right on both predictions and score for the 8th tonight.

Congrats to Coach Jones and the Wildcats! Coach Jones is a class act and I LOVE to see the small schools trump the much larger schools.

This type of win is what makes KY Hoops so special, the small little school from Warsaw beating the big boys of the region. Congrats to the WCats, hope the trend doesn't become contagious.

I hope it spreads like Cholera:thumb:

Good job cat's and good luck.

Crow is always good at this time of year(it beats possum) Congrat's to Coach Jones and his boys...nice win..the storybook year continues...but, it's gonna be tough on Monday night. Took a double hit last night ...the Dragons just couldn't hang with the Neer's for an entire game....fun while it lasted! One last thought...point well made about the poor sportsmanship from SC. players...not the 1st time this year.

Gallatin County shocks Rockets

Post staff report

Gallatin County made 20 of 31 free throws in the fourth quarter and held on to upset defending 8th Region champion Shelby County, 63-58, in the regional quarterfinals Thursday night at Henry County.

The Wildcats are two wins away from their first regional championship since 1959.

"We knew they were a great team but we knew we could play with them," said Gallatin County head coach Jon Jones, who saw his team suffer a narrow 71-65 loss to the Rockets in overtime earlier this season. "We lost that game by not converting down the stretch. We knew we could beat them then, but we gave the game away."

After holding a commanding lead for most of the contest, including a 10-point advantage for much of the final period, Gallatin County was able to hold off a last-minute barrage of fouls and baskets by the Rockets. The Wildcats' Cody Perkins and Trent Maddox combined to convert 13 of 14 attempts from the line in the fourth quarter.

Gallatin County put itself in position to make history when it jumped out to a 10-2 lead to open the game. Sophomore Jared Carlton scored 11 of his game-high 18 points during the opening period.

A one-school county, Gallatin County has taken great pride in the Wildcats all season long.

"Our community is very excited," Jones said in January about the outpouring of support that has helped to spur on his record-setting squad. "Everyone in town has been talking about the team, whether it be in the grocery store or other places around town. Everyone has been supportive and keeps telling us to keep up the good work."

Gallatin County will take on Simon Kenton in the semifinals Monday at 8:30 p.m. at Henry County.

Gallatin earned line space in the NKY paper then because they don't give them much coverage at all.

I opened up the Enquirer and it listed an 8th region team and 10th region team advanced and had nice articles on them. They did an article on the CovCath Blowout which makes no sense. But I digress. A tiny paragraph on the Birds and their 2 pt victory, which is not that big of a deal. However, it is nice that the Post covered the game.

I'm pulling for you guys to knock off the Pioneers.

I was only there for the last few minutes of the game, but from what I saw, I didn't think it was very well officiated; did anyone else think this?

The second game was called much better IMO.

That's ok well be pulling for CCH as well.:p

Great team effort. Awesome job by Jared Carlton. This kid played like a warrior Thursday night. I don't know how many rebounds Jared had, but it seemed like every time the ball came off the rim there was Jared and he's only a sophmore. I'm not taking anything away from the efforts of the other kids it was a well balanced attack by the cats. Trent Maddox had a huge game with his intensity, Edmonson and Perkins showed Senior leadership with smart play, Scott Brown "Mr. Cool" was his always composed self on the court and David Henson was a huge presence around the basket. Good luck against SK. Remember at this point of the season everyone knows you have talent to have advanced this far in the tournament, but it's not about talent it's about HEART. Good luck cats!

I agree, I have watched a lot of teams play over the years and this is the most unselfish team I have ever seen play, almost to a disadvantage sometimes. Nate Edmonson has really started to play team ball which I think has started to bring this team together even stronger. I would love to see the stats of this game, I thought Henson was always around the rim too. Carlton and Henson play great together around the basket closing out the inside for each other. Reminds me of them playing football together. The coaches do a great job showing these two how to do this despite their size disadvantage against bigger teams. I know if we can do this against Shelby and our five guards can shut down the guard play, we will beat SK! Go Wildcats.:ylsuper:
