I'm not sure what I meant to say there, and I think you just called me a giant bird. I'm not a Tubby supporter and I have many reasons that don't include race.

I would have to say it is more than 2%. I believe one on the main reason for why people hate Tubby so much is because they never wanted him here in the first place. So now after the first 8 years, they finally have something to actually hold on to, to complain about. So I do think race is sort of an issue, because that was the reason why ALOT of people didn't want him here in the first place....

It may sound funny to you but someone the other day said to me when is the last time we had a White Guard that can shoot? He said Tubby doesn't recruit the white boys like Pitino did!

The people who think race is a major reason for the "tubby bashing" are delusional. Sure, its probably an issue for 2% of fans out there, but to claim RACE is the reason, and not, oh... say... being FOURTH in the SEC EAST and UNRANKED for basically two years is ridiculous.

I agree. If UK got to the final 4 a few more times, maybe a national title in the past couple of years and no double digit losses the last 8 years those people who claim the race is an issue with them wouldn't care.

What is fact here is Tubby isn't recruiting good enough players, can't finish at the top of the SEC or division, and losses too many games, plus too many players leaving his teams, one that know personally.

Well said. I am one who dislikes Tubby a great deal bt never has race been a factor. I never thought he was a great fit at UK and he has shown that he can't recruit players and his style of coaching isn't working. The race card is a nonfactor for abou 85-90% of tubby bashers. Yes I know a few who use the race as a factor but for me it's dumb. I think some people are overreacting and blowing it way out of proportion and it's ridiculous!

Smith's accomplishments would earn him a contract for life at most schools. At Kentucky, all it gets him is criticism. Big Blue fans have high expectations - bordering on overly unrealistic in this era of college basketball parity - and don't like it when they aren't met.

Its really sad that he is getting bashed so hard after all that he has done.
