:thumb: Thanks for the update, I guess the Russell radio crew doesn't know a head from a knee :lol: :lol: , they were the ones that called it a knee injury.

Ofcourse they didn't WANT Raceland to make those free throws. Expecting professionalism from any adult isn't unrealistic.

Listen to any of the other local High School announcers and see if they don't openly cheer for the team they cover. I think you will find that most do.

I concur with Incognito, it is a concussion :creepy: plus aches and pains associated with the fall (back,neck). The game sounded like a warm-up for this fall's football game.:fight:

Hopefully someone can update on Tyler Boyles injury. The Russell radio guys made no mention of it other than he went out and it was good news bc Raceland would have to adjust their game plan! Those clowns don't belong in radio broadcast of h.s. kids games...............Period! Sorry, I said that I wouldn't mention it it again, I'll just consider the source and go on.

 

If anyone can update on Boyles injury it would be appreciated since follow up was given on him.

AND IT'S NOT LIKE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE MADE ANY COMPLETELY UNCALLED-FOR REMARKS ABOUT OPPOSING TEAMS AND/OR PLAYERS. THEY ARE THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL RADIO ANNOUNCERS THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD....AND THEY HAVEN'T MATURED ANY IN THE 20+ YEARS THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE AIR....SPORTS OR OTHERWISE. 2nd I gaurentee you that one of those announcers is more loyal to the Russell players than Dicky is for his team. For a lot better reason than a paycheck.

 

3rd They are not professional announcers. One of them is a clearchannel employee but the other one I believe does this on a voluntary basis.

I didnt get to listen to the game tonight but from previous games I have listened to what oldrambler says the radio crew said doesnt surprise me a bit. Its one thing to come up with cute nick names for each player on the team so that it makes it nearly impossible for a casual listener to understand whats going on but referring to an injury as "good" for any reason is uncalled for and VERY unprofessional.

 

Congrats to Russell on the win. Russell is still a contender to win the region but if Vanhoose is out the road is 10 times tougher. I really hope the kid is okay.

With the comment they made about "the GOOD thing about Boyles injury" be "villinized" as you call it. How can anyone call an injury to any kid "a good thing" even if they were talking about how it would effect Raceland's stategy and game plan. Do you think that sonds right/ If it was reversed would you think that it sounded o/k. ? That is all I am saying, ther "hope he misses" on th foul shots didn't bother me. The almost celebrating an injury to a kid definately did! They didn't say Vanhooses injury was "good" for Raceland. Where and what is the difference? Those guys are classless jerks and at least I don't have to listen to them anymore this season. Other stations will be carrying the rest of the tournaments.

Yes. He injured a knee. It does not look good but they will know more after the knee has been examined.

It sounded like an intense game. A couple of Technicals. One against each team I believe. From the little bit I got to hear on the radio on my way home it sounded like the was quite a bit of trash talk going on by both teams. No love loss in this rivalry.
