  1. Suspected concussion. He is with his parents at KDMC getting checked out ...or was the last I heard. ....and AMEN to "the clowns don't belong in radio broadcast of h.s. kids games". Actually don't belong on radio period.
  2. NO, WE WOULD NOT EXPECT THEM TO WANT ANYTHING FOR RACELAND, BUT WOULD EXPECT THEM TO ACT LIKE ADULTS INSTEAD OF 15 YEAR OLDS. AND IT'S NOT LIKE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE MADE ANY COMPLETELY UNCALLED-FOR REMARKS ABOUT OPPOSING TEAMS AND/OR PLAYERS. THEY ARE THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL RADIO ANNOUNCERS THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD....AND THEY HAVEN'T MATURED ANY IN THE 20+ YEARS THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE AIR....SPORTS OR OTHERWISE. AND AS FOR DICKY CHEERING FOR HIS TEAM, HIS LOYALTY FOLLOWS THE PAYCHECK.....HE'S CHEERED FOR ALOT OF "HIS" TEAMS OVER THE YEARS.
  3. ANYBODY KNOW THE OUTCOME OF THE RACELAND LEWIS COUNTY GAME THIS EVE?
  4. The explanation for the call is the same for all the other bad and no calls in the game. Bad refereeing, human error. Not "picking on" one team. And, you are right, I do not know the coach. Have never seen him before in my life, as far as I know. But I'm sure his first impression on me and alot of others will stay with us and the kids that were there that don't really know him either.....Kind of like the saying, Protect your reputation, it proceeds you like a marching band.....the only reputation that those of us that don't personally know him is the one we witnessed that day. I hope I have an occasion to see the real side of him on another day.
  5. If you're thinking the refs called it bad one-sided, you must have been seeing a different game than I did. There were alot of bad and missed calls on both ends of the court (and everywhere in between!) Worsed called game I have ever seen, and I have seen a few, but, in no way one sided. If those 3 were FOR Raceland, I'd hate to run into the ones that are against Raceland. And as for the coach getting two T's, just another example of a coach setting the wrong example for his team....and then they followed his example.
  6. I am so glad to see this post and could not agree with you more. Every time I read a thread about Mr. Hicks, I couldn'g help but wonder if anyone else had seen his actions in front of the players, year after year. IMO anyone who acts that way should not be around kids...and at a high school level, that is what his players are. First and formost, he is supposed to be a teacher and role model for his players. I certainly hope his players did not learn what he was teaching with his actions and do not model anything in their lives by is actions.
  7. He's not eligible to play according to Channel 3 News. The principal at the school ruled him ineligible for the next 3 games (or 4, I can't remember which they said.) They didn't say anything about the other 4 that were orignally ejected.
  8. From what I have been told, Vanderhoof should be fine. She was having ankle spasms (although I have not heard of this condition before, I am fairly certain this the term I was told) I wish her all the luck. She is a fun player to watch when she is on! As for my favorite in Richmond....the LADY RAMS! Win or lose, they are still my favorite! GO LADIES!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:
  9. Shocks me too!! Does anybody know what the problem was with the Rams court time tonight?
  10. Must be some of that "new Math" we all hear so much about! LOL
  11. :thumb: Couldn't agree with you more....and add Coach Clark by his side. Without Coach Floyd (and Coach Clark, in the past two years) holding the team together through out the turmoil that seems to erupt each year, it would be hard to imagine what would happen. IMO, anyway.
  12. Good Luck, Lions!...Alot of talent on that team, and more important, they play as a team! We wish them the best in Richmond!
  13. Way to go L-I-ONS! Hats off to Coach Pratt!:jump: :ylsuper:
  14. It's according to who you are sharing your "complaints" with. My wife and I both have opinions about authority figures in our children's lives that we don't share with them. But we may very well talk about them with other adults. Kids don't need to know everything we think. Also, I don't think having an opinion is necessarily complaining.
