All of this over Tubby, and some UK still give Eddie Sutton(loosing season, probation, 1st round tournament exit) a free pass. Hall had back to back years with 1st round exits in the 80's, but Tubby has caused the low point or downfall of the prpgram?

 

I think its Tubby's seeming inability or unwillingness to change thats got people all aflutter.

I've got no problem with people pointing out his flaws.

 

Some bashers use so much hatred, that they insinuate other coaches never had thiers. Tubby gets constantly compared to history by what he hasent done lately, but that history is not all roses like some will make seem.

Ever heard where theres smoke theres fire? If only a few were bashing nothing there IMO but to many, for so long, tells me there is a problem in Tubbyland.

Say Tubby goes. What players will follow? Hypothetically let's say Morris and Crawford bounce. Would Ramel stay? How about the freshman? If one or two of them transfer how is the roster for the new coach? It would likely rule out Patterson and Lucas, and Stewart would have the shot to reopen his recruitment as well. What would be left for the new coach? Starting over isn't fun. Trust me...

 

Heck who knows, the current players may be happy to see him go. Something needs to be done.

Wow do you really think this? First of all yeah we all know that nobody would take Crawford in the draft, but we also all knew that nobody would take Morris in the draft after his freshman year. Yet he still decided to give it a try, and if Tubby leave I bet there is a good chance Crawford would give it a chance..Then for Lucas, we our one of his choices because of Tubby, and I might have heard this wrong but I believe like someone in his family also wanted him to come here because of Tubby. If Tubby is not here Lucas would not come here, and same with Patterson. Also who knows whoever the new coach would be if the guys we already got committed would want to play for him. Just because his style of play might be better, doesn't automatically mean the kid will click with the coach and want to come here still. So we still could lose guys we already got locked up. Then not to mention the freshman of this year, they all came here because of Tubby. So if he left there is no guarntee that they all still will stay. What would happen say if Meeks decides to go else where, or something like that. So there are ALOT of bad things that could happen to next years team, if there is a coaching change.

 

Maybe you would be right and really no guys will leave, but usually when you see coaches go. You also see guys transfer and recruits change their mind about going to that school. So you cant just look at the good, because you think getting a new coach would mean all great things. You got to take into account that there could also be a whole lot more bad things to happen, and things could get alot worse than what many of you all complain about right now...

 

 

All are good points, but if Tubby stays and JL and PP are no shows we're a mess for a few years IMO. Right now a good coach could keep the freshman, Bradley and Crawford would at least be back next year and hopefully recruiting would be GREAT in 08!!!

You ane mobaar have had great posts!!!! My biggest concern is the lack of change. It's like he doesn't want to fix his flaws because that would require him admitting some fault.

I was a Tubby supporter but saw flaws for a long time. I would question but never bash. Now I really think he needs to go. It just seems that there is always a "what if" with Tubby. I think KY needs to run and recruit McDonald's All Americans every year. IMO that's the way to be top 10 just about every year and it also gives you a good chance to win it all every year. People are down with the Jrs, but if we had 4 classes that good we'd be legit right now.

Morris is gone anyways.. well more then likely. Crawford has nowhere to go really but where the NBDL? Bradley won't be going anywhere, he loves the Lexington night life. Jasper/Meeks/Stevenson, all you gotta do is bring in a decent name and they won't go anywhere. Why would they want to sit out a year then compete for a spot, when next year and the year after they have guaranteed spots waiting?

 

There will a small though transition of Tubby leaving but what can you do at this point.. theres no way around it?

You're one of the 8-10 I'm talking about...Yeah, I agree the recruiting could improve, but, you're not going to find a better bench coach than Tubby..He's actually recruited pretty well with exception of this years sr and soph class and when 2 of the 4 classes are bad, things like whats happening this year and last are going to happen...Noone likes it but it is cyclable and can change as quickly as it happened..IMO, replacing the head coach isnt the answer...Possibly getting a top notch asst whos well known in the AAU circles, to me, makes more sense...
