March 18, 200719 yr Thanks Uncle Joe, sounds like a great tournament! Can't wait for next weekend tournament.
March 18, 200719 yr Author NKY TarHeels should be able to handle their bizness especially if Hatton and McCormick are playing with them. I know these two kids are actually 5th graders who have been playing up with 6th graders the past couple years and pretty much doing whatever they want. I know the CKY team is very good and its a big rivalry so maybe they will meet later on today. Jalen Avery is a very talented ballplayer on the TarHeels.
March 18, 200719 yr Author I spoke too soon. I just got word that he Central KY Warriors defeated the NKY TarHeels in the State Championship 11U game by 3pts. I didnt get the final score. Congrats to the Warriors.
March 19, 200719 yr 11U/5th Grade State results: 1st: C. Ky Warriors 2nd: N. Ky Tarheels 3rd: Somerset Future 4th: Lou. Legends
March 19, 200719 yr The N. Ky Tarheels played a very good game against the C. Ky Warriors. They handled the Warriors pressure and had the Warriors on there "heels" in the first half. They were lighting it up from the outside. Hatton, McCormick, and Avery shot the ball very well and gave the Warriors guards (Cunningham, Grundy, and Lewis)a lot of trouble on defense. But, the big men for the Warriors (Diaw and Green) were too much for the Tarheels. Overall I thought the Warriors were taken back by a Kentucky team not backing down or folding under the Warriors intense pressure. Congratulations to the Warriors for a well fought 3 point victory. Also congratulations to the Somerset future for winning the consolation game against the Lou. Legends by 10 points. The Somerset point guard (Dishman) dominated this game.
March 19, 200719 yr If there were an all tournament team it would probably look something like this: Diaw (C. Ky Warriors) Green (C. Ky Warriors) Cunnigham (C. Ky Warriors) Hatton (N. Ky Tarheels) McCormick (N. Ky Tarheels) Dishman (Somerset Future)
March 19, 200719 yr Congratulations to Team Focus for winning the 9U/3rd grade state tournament over the Hoptown Hoyas. Team Focus was coached very well and played a great tourney.
March 19, 200719 yr Author If there were an all tournament team it would probably look something like this: Diaw (C. Ky Warriors) Green (C. Ky Warriors) Cunnigham (C. Ky Warriors) Hatton (N. Ky Tarheels) McCormick (N. Ky Tarheels) Dishman (Somerset Future) Congrats to all of the kids and you could probably put Jalen Avery (TarHeels) up on that team also. I heard Hatton fouled out of the game and the Tar Heels coach was T'd up late in the game so it sounds like it could have gone either way.

I heard Hatton fouled out of the game and the Tar Heels coach was T'd up late in the game so it sounds like it could have gone either way.You could put Avery on this team and you could also put Beal from Star Sports on this team. He is a strong lefty that had the potential to dominate a game. There are probably others that you could put on this team, but I only took them from the top 3 teams.
March 20, 200719 yr Louisville Storm, Campbell Co Kings, The Truth, NKY Rockets and Richmond Stars will give Somerset a run for the Title.
March 20, 200719 yr Author I looked at the pools and Somerset and Louisville storm if they get top seed out of pool play will meet in the upper bracket in D2. Someone will have to leave early. CCKings have a good pool, NKY Rockets feel really good about their pool as well but will have to earn top seed in order to avoid Louisville Storm in bracket play who will likely take their pool. That is no disrespect to the Pacers/Letcher or Star Sports because I havent seen them but I have seen the Storm and they are very good. HOOPDR give me some scoop on Richmond Stars as they are in our pool. We know the Swarm.
