How did Josh play the game before the Cov Cath game? Pretty darn good right? Didnt he have like 29pts? And I know the kid can dunk in warm ups ( although i wouldnt say throw it down ) he just doesnt have much exploveness.

 

He also shot a lot more that game, his shoulder wasn't bothering him near as much. And he can throw it down, he can windmill.

Owen co. coach didnt win I would say because of transfers. Henry Co. has come from 3-25 2 years ago to 18-9 and 1st in their district. They didnt get any transfers during Hollands 3 years at HC either. He is a great coach and I believe that is why he won it. Jones is an excellent coach as well, couldve won it just as easily. 31st district, i believe, is a little stronger than ppl anticipated it to be.

Correct me if i am wrong , but i believe Henry County has a transfer as well from a couple of years ago. As a matter of fact, at the Gallatin /Henry game at Henry earlier in the season, when starting lineups were announced, the PA announcer actually named all of the Henry Co. starters town of residence ( Port Royal, New Castle, etc...). One of the Henry starters was announced as living in Louisville,Ky. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

First off this was Duvalls first year as a head coach. Also Owen county won 21 games in the last 2 years combined and did it this year with little returning starters and a new coach. And I believe, not for sure, but Henry co point guard, j. williams i think, came to Henry co his sophomore year from louisville. I could be wrong though. Not sure how the award was not presented to either jones or Duvall.

I wasnt throwing any stones. Yes we had 2 transfer that moved in their freshmen year, but they were not a POY candidates (Neeley) and players with winning experience (Edmonson). Thats what I meant by it. Not trying to start fights, just stating my opinion.

I wasnt throwing any stones. Henry co. did get 2 players freshmen year, they are now seniors. One player came from SOuth Oldham and had some basketball experience, the other cam from Louisville and had never played an organized basketball game in his life. The transfers Owen and Gallatin both got, a POY candidate (Neeley) and a player with alot of winning experience (Edmonson). It is just my opinion to why they didnt win, not saying they arent deserving of it or anything.

Henry's J williams came to Henry Co in 10th grade from South Oldham and had never played any varsity ball before. The announcer says from Louisville, but he lives in Henry County and is really from Oldham County.

I find it hard to believe that there are 15 players better than Nate Edmonson in the eighth region. Every Gallatin game I went to this year I saw Nate Edmonson makes moves to the basket and hit shots that most of the kids on this list could not make and Daniel Neely is without question the best player in the eighth region. Congrats to all the players who made it....

Edmonson sitting out the start of the season hurt his chances. He is not like Hester who played in the 8th last year.

To say that anybody is "without question" better than Hester or Hurd is ludicrous. Neeley maybe the better player, but if he is, he's definitely not much better than Hester. And Hurd averaged a double-double all year, and led the state in field goal percentage.

:thumb: Well said. The "without question" part got me also. Makes me wonder how many games this person saw and against what kind of competition.:sssh: I think Hurd should have won the award with his stats and the competition level he played against.
