Like I said before I too believe Hurd should have been POY. But I have no problem with Hester winning it. I think the coaches took Mike's entire career into consideration when giving him this award.

I find it hard to believe that there are 15 players better than Nate Edmonson in the eighth region. Every Gallatin game I went to this year I saw Nate Edmonson makes moves to the basket and hit shots that most of the kids on this list could not make and Daniel Neely is without question the best player in the eighth region. Congrats to all the players who made it....

 

Could not agree more on Edmondson. The leading scorer on the winningest team in the region. Also, the 6 losses were to teams with a combined record of 126-43 (76%). The Cats are also now 12-1 in tournament play with the lone loss to Brossart (26-4) by 1 point.

This is impressive, I haven't seen Edmonson play since he left Simon Kenton. Back then I wasn't too impressed with his shot selection, but definitely had talent. It seems he's grown up since then. Dang. I wonder what it'd be like if he were still at SK.

This is a travesty! The award is called PLAYER OF THE YEAR, NOT CAREER OR WHAT WAS DONE LASTYEAR OR A PARTIAL SEASON! Daniel Neely took a team that is normally a middle of the pack team and turned them into a confident more than capable team. Neely has played the full YEAR even with injuries. Comes into a brand new system,coach,school, and town. I hope the coaches of the 8th that did not vote for him sleep well at night. You made a mistake! Congrats to all 8th team members!

Voting is done before the regular season ends. By your criteria the best player in the state, Pettigrew, would not be 5th Region POY.

I seen him last year with Holmes and he liked to hang out at the 3 pt line a bit much. New surroundings and a new coach can be big to a young man that age.

Then he's not the best player.

When I watch Gallatin the player that always stands out to me is Maddox, he can get to the basket better then most.

Maddox is a heck of a ball player as well. I think Perkins is there best all around player, Brown there best set shooter, Edmonson is probably their best off the dribble player, and Giles is there best defender. Maddox IMO cuts better than anyone on their team. This is coming from a HC fan, so don't think all HC faithful hates GC, because we dont.
