Ride Josh Montooth for all hes got

Braydon Mills in the running back and a very good one at that! I haven't seen Montooth in awhile but hopefully he has been hitting the weights and getting bigger, because IMO he definitely was to small last year. Montooth is definitely a great talent, but he had alot to improve on from last year, so I dont think ride a guy who we dont even know how much he improved since last year. The 3 guys they are most likely going to ride on going into the season will be #1 the QB Jarrett Rouse, then Braydon Mills at runningback, and Buddly Lunsford at receiver who was setting Ludlow records during the last two games of the year....

What position is he?

Last yeah he was at both runningback and receiver, but really wasn't a big part of the offense at all. He also played some corner last year as well, but was not one of the normal starters. However they definitely will need him to play a bigger role this year, and as I just said hopefully he has been working hard in the off season and got bigger from last year...

Defense Defense Defense! Knowing Coach Borchers this is certainly high on the priority list.

The Panthers will definitely need to stay healthy and keep Mills, Rouse, and Lundsford on the field. Hopefully some of the younger players can step into bigger roles and the offensive and defensive lines will greatly improve. The offense is going to have to be more diverse and develope a traditional running game. Should Rouse go down at QB, it could be a long season.

1. Be balanced. The passing game must be balanced with the running game to have any shot at Beechwood now or in the future.

2. Special teams/kicking game. Can't give away field position to the good teams and must be better at it than the other teams in the district.

3. Do the best they can with limited numbers and size. Everyone might have to play both ways, but if they don't have to play EVERY down both ways it would help.

4. Become at least a clear #2 to Beechwood in the district and take your shot in the post-season.

I believe Mr. Crunch is basing his statement on the stellar freshman year Josh "Mongoose" Montooth had for the undefeated freshman champs at Highlands. He split time with Josh Connor at RB and there was no noticeable dropoff. Defensively, he was a real hitter. If you factor the success JC had @ HHS and extrapolate Mongoose going to a smaller venue, then you could see where the comment would originate. We all wish nothing but the best for Mongoose...athletically and academically... and hope he leads Ludlow to many successes. ...may the fans cry out "TURN THE 'GOOSE LOOSE!!!"

Defense was not that bad last year. It kept us in some games when our offense wasn't moving the ball. You're right Coach Borchers is an excellent defensive coach, and I would think the defense will be respectable again this year.

I agree with Panther8404 on this, I think defense is the thing they need to improve on last year. The defense IMO last year didn't do as good as they could have done. Especially this year the defense IMO should be the main concern. They lost all their linebackers from last year, some key d-lineman and their best corner. On offense the main concern is how the line will be, because they do still have playmakers on offense. So defense is the thing they really need to concentrate on this year IMO...

Well I hope the goose has a breakout year this year. I know last year he really didn't show me that much. I saw that he definitely has alot of athletic ability and LOADS of potential, but last year IMO he just didn't seem ready for varsity football. So hopefully now after a year of experience at the varsity level, he will have the same success as he had his freshman year at Highlands....

Do I understand this right to say that "the loose goose" is a transfer from HHS?

I know Josh had 1 big game (rushing) and was listed in the players to watch for column in the paper. Also didn't he miss the last couple of games due to injury?
