February 18, 200719 yr Ross Neltner or Sheray Thomas, Bobby Perry, and Orbzut? Corey Brewer and Chris Lofton or Rameel Bradley and Joe Crawford? I realize that I have the benefit of hindsite but if you want to see why UK is currently suffering look no further than these personel decisions by a $2,000,000 a year coach.
February 18, 200719 yr Unfortunately a "dead horse" is what we are riding in Lexington. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

February 18, 200719 yr Author Sheray Thomas. Then you should apply for a position on the UK coaching staff.

I think a better question is what coach in America would have taken these two over the other two, because I can answer than one for you.... 0, not one.
February 18, 200719 yr Considering you stopped watching Kentucky basketball, you sure do like talking about it rickyp.

I would rather have Bradley and Crawford and Neltner is certainly nothing to get excited about.
February 18, 200719 yr Author Considering you stopped watching Kentucky basketball, you sure do like talking about it rickyp. I never said I quit watching. I said that I don't plan around their games. For example I watched the Florida game, didn't watch the UT game because I was at a high school game, the I watched the last 30 miniutes today. I missed the first 10 miniutes because I opted to go to a grade school game to watch some boys who are friends with my son. 10 years ago I would have watch all three or at least recorded them on a VHS tape. Heck today all I had to do was push a button on my DVR and I didn't bother. Sorry I missed the first 10 miniutes apparently it was an inspiring effort.
February 18, 200719 yr If Tubby would have picked Brewer, a McDonald's All-American, and Lofton, a lowly ranked player that no big-time program wanted, people would be whining that we didn't get the most "top-tier" players. Therefore, Tubby went for Crawford, Rondo, and Morris, all McDonald's All-Americans, and Ramel Bradley, a 4-star player. A lot of this has to do with what has happened since they've been in college, and no one was able to judge that before the scholarships were offered, we just got the raw end of it.
February 18, 200719 yr Author I would rather have Bradley and Crawford and Neltner is certainly nothing to get excited about. You also are qualified for a spot on Smith's staff at UK. I don't know you or your talent level but I would take you over Thomas, Perry, or Orbzut sight unseen.
February 18, 200719 yr Author I was at work so I didn't watch it... They lost, what can you do? Complain. Seriously I am terribly frustrated.

Smith did not take Crawford or Morris over Brewer. Morris and Crawford were late commitments and both were very close to going elsewhere. Smith passed on Brewer because he felt like he could not play in the SEC. Same with Lofton. Bottom line is that he reject two kids who would have crawled to Lexington and took two kids that had to be begged to come to UK. I think it shows in their passion. I realize that hindsight is 20/20. I hope Smith or whoever the coach is in the future learns from that mistake.
