February 19, 200719 yr Author Not much to justify. Adam Williams was not very good, but most importantly and relevant to this conversation, Williams is in a different recruiting class. What class was he in? I get confused because he spent a year at prep school. Either way he was offered after his sophmore season.

February 19, 200719 yr Author He was a Freshman last season. I have yet to figure out his scholarship decision... apparently Tubby did not either which is why he is gone. If he was a freshman last year and he spent a year in prep school that would have put him in the same high school class as Bradley, Crawford, Morris, and Rondo. Correct? My question is did he graduate high school in 2004?
February 19, 200719 yr Author I looked it up. Williams graduated high school in 2004 the same year as Crawford, Bradley, Morris, and Rondo. He spent the 40-05 season at prep school. UK offered him a scholarship during his sophmore season! That means that our head coach committed a scholarship to a high school sophmore who wasn't talented enough to play in the SEC leat alone at UK. That same scholarship could have went to Corey Brewer or Chris Lofton. Why because Tubby and Tex Williams are friends. That alone is enough for me to fire Tubby Smith.
February 19, 200719 yr It was actually 2 weeks ago. You are now 800 posts ahead. I have been posting. You are averaging between 55-60 posts a day more than me in that period. I've probably made 30 posts today. I have maybe missed 1 or 2 days of posting. I would say that at least 100 of your posts were about KY fans posting about losses, and critisizing discussions.....Smile..... Leave the computer.... Go get dinner or something....... I would say you've probably made 3 posts while I was making this one..... Yep....:thumb: My sole purpose on BGP is to pass people in number of post.
February 19, 200719 yr Definately! He's always getting called for backing people down. He definately needs some work, but at least he can catch a pass thrown to him. I would take Woo all day over Carter at this point. Now if he can add about 20 pounds of muscle in the off season then we will talk. His has good hand and foot work now he just needs to put all the other pieces together.

Try to convince Lofton or Brewer to sit at prep school a year. Ain't gonna happen. Really... I'm as upset about Tubby's recruiting as anyone, but the Lofton/Brewer thing is getting OLD. He did fine on the junior class.. yea yea yea he could've gotten Brewer and Lofton. 99% of the coaches in America would've taken Rondo/Crawford/Bradley. I don't wanna hear about it anymore. Lets talk about a year when there's no argument he messed up. The Sophmores. Williams, Sims, Carter.
February 19, 200719 yr Yep....:thumb: My sole purpose on BGP is to pass people in number of post. I KNEW IT!!!!!

All very true!!!:thumb: It is getting REALY old about Lofton as for the sophomores he missed out big time.

February 19, 200719 yr All of this just proves that rankings coming out of HIGH SCHOOL are almost irrelevant! Yes, Randolph Morris was a McD's All American, NO Joakim Noah and Jermoreo Davidson weren't. It is hard to judge talent that is so young and undeveloped. You can see some of Morris' old high school film and he dominates the game...over a team who's opposing big man is 6'4 and may weigh 200 pounds. Coaches and fans all over put too much trust into these recruiting rankings. Coaches need to recruit their players based on what they see. Sure, any player could look great on TAPE, but it could be a different story in real life. With all that said, GO CATS! I hope we get out of this funk and get back on track!!!

Good post and with that being said, some people under Tubby are the ones evaluating the talent. I think it is OBVIOUS they need to go.
February 19, 200719 yr ON PAPER, the players that the Cats have now were a no brainer to recruit and sign. I have a bad feeling that the paper is only as far as our coaching staff looked though! Sure, Brewer and Lofton are both great players, but how good would they have been in Tubby's system? That is just a question we will never be able to answer!!!
