Absolutely amazing work getting all this together!! A few minor changes that would change the numbers by one in some years. Mike Borchers became the new Ludlow coach in 2000, not 2001. Then also in 2002 got a new head coach and it was Bob Parrish. Tom Staley also was a Ludlow head coach in the late 90's as I know he was the head coach in 97,98,99 I just don't know which year he first became Ludlow's head coach.

When did Coach Wise take over at Ludlow? Was it after Randy Reese in the 70's?

I'd be interested to see the average tenure at each school for each head coach. That might be a lot of work to figure out though.

I wonder what Coach shows up the most on these lists and which school showed up the most.

I would venture to guess the school that shows up the most is not a very successful one.

Awesome work!!!

According to Gemini (wanted to see if it could do it), Doss shows up the most with 16. I haven't actually checked it though.

Has to be wrong because I'm only counting Doss at 11.

Awesome - that's exactly the kind of info I was hoping to get about some of these programs. For whatever reason the KHSAA Scoreboard still showed Tom Staley as head coach in 2000, but you're right, that was definitely Mike Borchers' first year. Looks like Staley's first season at Ludlow was 1993. The newspaper's 1993 article listing coaches did have good info on Gary Jump being the head coach at Ludlow, but then per the 1994 article below, Jump resigned immediately before the start of the season and Staley ended up as HFC at Ludlow in 1993.

Randy Reese left to take over at Paris in 1979. The earliest newspaper article that I found mentioning Glen Wise as Ludlow's head coach was in 1981, but that doesn't mean that was his first season - the KY Post Archive is only available digitized up through 1976 and everything after that is only on microfilm at the Kenton County Library, so at the moment I can't confirm in Wise took over Ludlow in 1979, 1980, or 1981.

Knox Central definitely had a bunch at 14...that's gotta be close to the most. Plus look at that stretch from 1988-2002 ?‍?

1982 - Prentiss Ragland
1988 - Ralph Smith
1992 - Hooker Phillips
1996 - Earl Cole
1999 - Jon Reynolds
2000 - Ralph Smith
2001 - Jon Reynolds
2002 - Ralph Smith
2004 - Wayne Mills
2011 - Scott Russell
2017 - Fred Hoskins
2021 - Travis McDaniel (Interim)
2022 - Dustin Buckner
2024 - Wayne Mills

The continued increase in the number of coaching changes per season is an alarming trend for sure.  Thanks for compiling this information.
