Benjamin Brown is now enrolled at Covington Catholic. Brown played at Scott before transferring to Summit Country Day early this summer. He played in 17 games for Scott, averaging 22.8 ppg.

Transfers Between High Schools Policy

BGP is not a clearinghouse or platform for speculation, rumors, or discussion of potential or anticipated student-athlete transfers.

The use of the terms “transfer portal” or “portal” to describe high school student-athletes is prohibited in all high school forums.

Only confirmed transfers may be discussed, and discussion must be strictly limited to factual reporting of the move (i.e., the student-athlete has transferred from School A to School B).

CCH is the clear favorite. More talented, along with a better system and coaching. This kid played at the top level of AAU for Trae Young's team. Also played out in Vegas where competition is better and he was rated the number 2 player in Nevada. Teams won't be able to just double every time he touches it like last year. And now with Thielen developing him, he has 3 years with him it could get real interesting how high he ends up.

I think Brown is a talented player and has a bright future. He did have a good freshman year but when you look at his numbers you’ll see a high volume of shots being taken to reach them. They were also padded by some of the competition Scott played later in the year. Simply put, his best games came against teams that were not very good or didn’t play much defense. It will be interesting to see how he fits in at Cov Cath.

If he was rated the second best player in Nevada, then their high school basketball is just not very good. He most certainly is not the second best player in Kentucky.

I totally agree with your thoughts. I can see him having trouble adapting at CCH.

Imagine like most young players, Brown will be excited to be a volume guy....He didn't even shoot the most on his team at Scott last year (Clemons with 303 FGA).

He will fit just fine at CCH. Imagine Thelen will develop and empower him.
