St. Xavier (28-7) will take on Grayson County (27-6) tomorrow at 11 am in the final four of the KHSAA Sweet 16.

These two have never met according to the scoreboard.

KHSAA State Semifinal

Saint Xavier ?? (28-7)
vs.
Grayson County ?⚪️ (27-6)

?️ | Style points amount to very little on the hardwood in March. At this point, you scrap, claw, and embrace whatever else it takes to win.

St. X proved it can hunker down and grind out wins after doing just that against North Laurel. They almost hunkered a little too much, as the X-Men's pace of play slowed to a crawl at times, seemingly playing away from their strengths.

Grayson County will try to stretch that pace back out as the highest scoring team left in the tournament. The Cougars played against-type by getting defensive against Great Crossing, limiting the Warhawks to a season low 50 points.

Despite the point totals in the previous round, this one has the potential to be an up and down, high scoring game. Both sides have the tools and inclination to make it so.

Winner gets a crack at the ultimate prize in Kentucky high school athletics tomorrow night.

Tip-off: Saturday, March 21st at 11:00am

Grayson Co will have 2000+ there in support, easy. They will have Rupp LOUD!

HOWDY HOWDY LET’S GET ROWDY!

X finds a way to lose this one.

And to be honest, a Finals with Grayson Co. in it is what the Sweet Sixteen needs.

Being from Leitchvegas, I'd love to see Grayson County cut down the nets Saturday night. But I've felt all year long St. X was the most complete team in the state. I still feel that way. If you want to rob Leitchvegas, Saturday morning at 10 AM CDT would be the time to do it, because the last one out of Leitchvegas turn off the lights. The storybook fairy tale comes to an end Saturday morning in Rupp!

St. X is #1 now in Maxpreps ratings and Grayson County #12. Rating shows St. X better by 7 points. Probably another competitive game unless St. X hits several threes like they are capable of doing but only hit two against North Laurel.
