All roads in the 12th lead here. DCA, though knocked around a little starting with the All A regional, has been at or near the top of the region all year. West Jessamine was touted as a contender to start the year but took some serious lumps, including a loss to East Jessamine and near-losses to both that Jaguar squad and Mercer.

These teams did not play during the regular season. Ateny versus Tut will be a fun matchup to watch while Mikels for DCA and Murphy for West have been engines all year for their respective offenses.

This one has the makings of a great title match.

I lean DCA by double figures, but West can drag them into a rock fight potentially.  DCA has looked really good in this tournament, and has the benefit of the game times being flipped to account for West travel last night.  I think the extra rest will do them well, and it would not surprise me if they handle West tonight.  Anything can happen on championship night though, so the Colts could be game.

Why did they flip the times of the games.  The West/Boyle game normally would have been the 1st game of the night?

Yes, if the draw had been played out as is the West/Boyle Game would've been the first semifinal last night.  The benefit of drawing the opening night games of the tournament is you get the early semifinal, scout the next game and get more rest.  They flip for the Jessamine Co. schools when it is at Pulaski Co. to be the late games where they get out of school so late coupled with the length of travel.  Danville Christian won out big IMO with their draw opponent, and also getting the 1st semifinal.  When you're rolling, things tend to go your way.  I believe when the tournament is at Lincoln Co. they flip game times for Wayne Co. and McCreary Central, but I could be wrong.  I've never understood why they don't put a day of rest in-between the semifinals and finals.  I think you would get a much better product in the championship game.

What PG said is correct: East and West don't get out of school until almost 4pm and then have to wait on buses to run their routes. I think East and West both play the late first round game at both Lincoln and Pulaski, although there usually isn't a change for the semifinals if East or West is playing at Lincoln.

I heard last night from someone who should know that it had to do with West Jessamine’s bus schedule.  Apparently, they are using them all and can’t get started south until after 5.  It’s been that way for years.

I agree on a days break between games.

A very fitting end to the regional tournament. Not a game you can describe as pretty. DCA, the best team in the region for the most part during the year, gets the berth to Rupp.
