If I were the AD or principal, I would sign re-sign the coaches right now. People who are not in the building should have no say on who is hired within the building.

Wild take.

As a father with school age kids, it is my nightmare for my administration to believe that parent shouldn't have a say on who is in the building with our children.

With the announcement of Coach Borchers leaving I chit chatted with a few people around NKY and on this topic I was told the issue is "Toxic Parents" at Cooper.

I want to make sure I understand what you are saying. You are saying that you believe parents should have an input and a say on who a school hires as a coach, is that correct?

With all due respect, parents absolutely have say on what type of character will be influencing their children. As stated previously, this was not a game management, playing time, or outcome issue. From what I have heard, this has nothing to do with Cooper underperforming. I am sure the administration is doing their due diligence and speaking with all of the players and likely the coaches before any action is taken.

Ok, what have you heard?  Give us some substance to go on, what is happening?

Not as wild as you think.

I'm glad you asked because you did misunderstand what I was saying so I will clarify.

On March 3rd @The Double Deuce (who has certainly earned my trust over the years) stated:

apparently when Mr. and Mrs. returned to the locker room and discovered the Upper Classmen had bolted, the younger ones caught the brunt of his frustration.  Apparently one of the younger ones, who shall not be named, had a father who was VERY upset about how it was handled and has communicated that to the school and / or the Male assistant coach.

A little further down in the thread, you stated something that I also think supports my belief:

I understand what you are saying, and am definitely not taking the parents/players side, but the complaints that are coming out is that the head coaches husband (who I believe is an assistant) was a little too "old school" and at times was over the top. Now, do I think part of it is players and parents that were not willing to adjust to the new coach and kept comparing things to how it used to be, probably. But, there is no place for some of the things that I have heard that was said to those girls.

I then see a post by @PP1 saying

So, to clarify my stance.

A dad is upset with the way a grown man spoke to his teenage daughter. Based on the things that you, @AvidSportsJunkie856, have heard there is no place for some of what was said. @PP1 thinks the dad shouldn't have a say in who is in the building with his daughter. I disagree.

So if I don't like my son's math teacher, I can go to the principal and say that he needs to be fired and the principal should care what I say? Keep in mind, I've never sat in his math class, I am just looking at his grade and hearing his opinion.

I doubt most dads sit in practice. They just watch the games and hear their daughter's opinion.

Parents do have representation on SBDM Council, so run for SBDM or contact your rep.

I think I clarified my position. If a father isn't happy with the way his child is being treated, I think he should feel confident that the administration would handle the matter with my child's interest in mind. That was the topic being discussed. I am not sure why math is relevant here.

Will someone just come forward and repeat what was said to the girls,  Was anything actually said?  Way to much hear say in this topic.

Why is it not relevant, both parties are teaching your child?

Respectfully, if you really don't see the relevance of my example, then... well... I wouldn't approach the school administration. They may roll their eyes.

Any updates here?  Any movement on the coaching staff?  Any discipline for the coaching staff?  Or is this all just entitled parents and players crying wolf?

I am at the same place as last week.  Are there any details here?  Were some of the girls called slow or fat?  Told they have low basketball IQs?  Not a team player?  Selfish?  Weak? Something else?  So far all I "see" here is disinformation and hearsay with ZERO details or proof of anything.  With all that said, there may be a basis for the "outcry" but so far all it is, is empty words..

Anyone?

Teaching a child is fine. Verbally attacking one is not. I have heard firsthand that there were several younger players who were verbally attacked after the regional game at Highlands. These were players who did not participate in the game, and from what I hear it is not isolated. That may be why the upper classmen decided to skip the post-game talk. No idea.

Respectfully, you changed the conversation from a father being upset at an assistant coach for saying things that "there is no place for" (quoting another poster because it is relevant to my initial arguement) to you not liking your sons math teacher. You gave no reason for not liking your sons math teacher. Did the teacher belittle your child? Did the teacher say things that should not be said to children? Did the teacher just give your child a bad grade? That is relevant information for a person to be able to make a decision. In the original topic (the one this thread is about), we have a reason for the fathers frustrations. In your made up scenario, we do not. Do you see the difference? I don't think the 2 are equivalent, yet you are trying to compare them.

Please, let us hear some quotes.

Based on what I am hearing and that no one is being specific, I am starting to wonder if Mr. Wilson or Mr. Borchers are really the problem. It was a parent who threw a towel on the floor during the Boy's 9th region championship, a parent who ranted on facebook for about a half hour about the football coach, and parents trying to get the girl's basketball coaching staff fired.
