Big if true.

It’s true.

NewCath pulls the upset even after just an abysmal 3pt shooting day. 4 for maybe 50 attempts (joking but it was a lot of misses), but solid defensive effort overall and an absolute dawg in Eddie Bivens tonight. NewCath had a nice run to take the lead in the 4th and then it was a back and forth affair. Lowe was as good as advertised and his last second wide open 3 fell short to give the Breds a huge win in district play.

There were times where Newport got the ball up the court in a hurry and had some success but mostly they played a pretty mellow tempo. Both teams had numerous shots at the rim that couldn’t find the bottom of the hoop.  I liked seeing both teams challenging the ball going to the basket. Some contact called some not, good night for the officials in my opinion (might be biased).

Newport has more big fish to fry in the All A. Good luck Cats.

This could be a huge lost when it comes to District seeding.

Why is that?  May have to play each other again and winner advances.  Or are you referencing if Newport were to beat Highlands?

Ok, I see what you are saying, that game last night really means nothing.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the district started tomorrow, Newport would be playing New Cath.

Yes that would be correct.  Highlands would play winner of Bellevue and Dayton.  Now if Newport beats Highlands next week then that is another can of worms to open.

In that case, it goes to RPI for a 3 way tie, which would likely go Newport v NewCath and Highlands the 1.

The win was only for bragging rights at the Dixie chili.
