If that is the case, it is reasonable to assume that Sutton will receive what he delivered. In a "perfect society" that may not happen. However, the western end of Greenup County falls short of that distinction.

For someone who has constantly belittled others for repeating hearsay, you sure like to throw it around alot when it affects others.

This kind of junk has been going on in Greenup for years! I blame the leadership of the school system, not the coaches for this mess. People there should demand more from their school system and stop putting up with this drama all the time.

scooterbob this is a very careless post. You need to get some facts correct before you question Coach Sutton's character. Very disappointing post from a class guy like you.

You have defended some coaches and players on here with questionable character at best, but then you attack a guy like Sutton. Truly unreal.

By "players" I was not referring to team players. As with Sutton, I don't know any of them. By "players", I am referring to participants in the melodrama. I know nothing of Sutton that is negative. I'm sure he is a good man. However, he did have full prior knowledge of what he was "inheriting" and I can't believe that he is St. Thomas More before King Henry VIII.

When has Sutton complained about the situation?

I have seen him make no excuses in the paper or anywhere.

It's not so much the coaches that are from the South Shore end of the county it's the administrators who rule the roost that's what I believe the oldrambler is talking about.

From everything Ive heard about the situation, it seems that when it comes to sports Greenup is one messed up school system. I was talking to a girl from Greenup last night and she told me some interesting stories. From an outsider's view point it seems like they have major problems up there.

From what I have gathered Coach Sutton didn't have of part in the Hicks down fall but I think Coach Smith is a different story. Time to move on and get behind Coach Sutton. I hope he brings a little different offense scheme to GC. Like someone else said in another post give the ball Mitchell Brown. GC needs some inside play.

I agree Greenup has to take advantage of their inside play. I also agree Brown needs to act like he wants the ball when he is posting up.He does a good job when he gets the ball. On his defense, it is frustrating working your tail off to get open on the post not to recieve the ball. I believe he could get alot more active inside especially on the offensive glass. They all need to play with more grit. I also think Wolfenbarker needs to penitrate more and create for the other players. He is a good penatrater. The most imprtant thing is Wolfenbarker has to realize That Greenup is not very good when he is sitting over by the coach in foul trouble. He has to stay out of foul trouble. :thumb:

But one I believe is that KHSSA told GC Admin. "Do something who your rebel coach before we do". That is the only way I figure something like this went down in the middle of the season.

I haven't heard that one yet. I'd love to know your source on that one, because I have a friend at the KHSAA and they never said any of the sorts when I asked them point blank. If the KHSAA wanted to get involved they would've been so long ago I believe. The KHSAA was involved in this "situation" and already ruled on said kids already mentioned. In reality I believe that this administrator was probably misinformed, but that's just one man's opinion.

Coach Hicks took the team through the developmental stages of the year and did well. Since his absence Sutton and Smith have lead the team to a record of 500. Anyone can warm a seat on the bench. It takes a true coach to work day in and day out. Now lets look at Coach Sutton's Freshman team that he worked with himself and practice during these developmental months and they only won ONE game this year. Knowing the situation, Sutton always said that there was no talent and the team wasn't any good. For this reason he cancelled practices regularly. Again knowing this situation and having followed GCHS basketball for years I can say that Coach Hicks teams have always been hardnosed and tough. They have always been in better condition than their opponents and fought until the end. Since his absence the kids are out of shape. They tug at their shorts and double over to their knees during the second half of the game. Coach Sutton obviously does not know how to develop a team.

Let me say I am very close to the GC Freshman team. Same group that came thru Mckell Middle 8th grade last year. You could count their wins on one hand last year at McKell. I wouldn't judge Coach Sutton from that group of Kids.
