The current situation at Greenup Co.

I didn't intend to imply that most of my knowledge is other than heresay. I oppose heresay being used as fact. When used, as it often is on BGP, it should be identified as such. I also didn't imply that Sutton orchestrated the activities at Greenup County. He certainly isn't in a position to do that. I merely said that, from reliable sources (actually not heresay if they are repeating what the principal characters told them directly or what was actually stated in their presence; otherwise, it is heresay), I understand that Sutton has been a "player" in the drama and that he has knowingly damaged Hicks.

I would not expect Hicks to sacrifice his future merely to bring "peace" to Greenup County. First of all, his future as a coach is directly on the line. Second, Greenup County has never had any peace and it isn't likely to start now. Hicks needs to do whatever he can to protect his rights because it is a sure bet that, if he doesn't, no one else will and he will be crucified by the Greenup County hierarchy.

I do think that he now has representation superior to that of the Greenup group. I guess we'll see how this marathon plays out.

I really have no dog in this fight. My interest is in full disclosure and justice. I have no idea as to where the facts will lead. However, from reading the local newspaper and BGP, I do know the present direction of the train.

If Hick's pushes this issue they may be more come out that damages him futher. Everything was not in the report. Why he didnt take the hand shake deal the super offered is beyond me when he knows this stuff is true. He did say one statement that made sense. He is damaged goods. but he brought it all on his self. Once again It all started when he turned in the Russell Player to the KHSAA. He needs to let it go, if it goes to court and is proven that he done all this stuff then he will have a hard time getting anybody to hire him. Right now it is just his word against the Greenup County school system.

The difference is, obviously, that my opinion carries no weight whereas the opinion of the Greenup County group does. I have an opinion on the matter that means nothing to anyone but me. I just believe that someone should point out that most stories have two sides and that our train needs to travel in both directions occasionally. the full truth rarely runs in only one direction.

I will readily admit that I dion't know the absolute facts. But, then, I would submit that, most likely, no one does.

That is a risk taken by both sides. I would expect that we only have heard the tip of the iceberg from both viewpoints.

You are correct as to what would likely happen if Hicks took it to court and lost. I'm sure he is well aware of that fact. Nonetheless, he continues to fight while GC appears to be trying to get it to go away. The fact that each is taking a completely different approach should make one seeking the facts wonder just who has more to lose. Could it be that GC has a few "items" hid under some rocks? I'm just asking but you must admit that, if they are clean, they are sure handling matters in a strange way.

I believe that it has been such a mess that they do want it to go away. They dont have any benifit on damaging Hick's any further. Im sure they would like for it to die down. On the other hand Hick's probly wants to keep it stirred up because he knows that what they dont want. By the way Scooter why arnt you at the Rose Hill game that is going to tip off in 4 minutes.

I feel that if this does go to court it will be for the best of all parties. Maybe all the ghost of the past will finally be exorcised in GC school system. As it has been stated by scooterbob and others there have been problems beyond this current situation with GC schools. I agree that Hicks must pursue this in order to have any chance at all of being hired again elsewhere, as for the situation with the Russell player, I'll remind everyone of the old adage "Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house." I believe this could the beginning of something that could change the perspective of everyone in the region.

You are right. Does other schools (coaches, teachers, ext.) have illegal contact with players, parents, from another school?? It goes on everywhere. no doubt. The problem starts when you get caught. Its like speeding. We all do it. Its not speeding until you get caught.

Exactly and I'm afraid there could be some other names (schools) who may come up when the time is right. Put it this way I know for a fact there are few people lurking out there who have direct knowledge and hard evidence that would lead to the ruin of a few people.

This would only be damaging to other schools if the KHSAA got involved. They are the only ones that could punish a school. I dont believe that they will at this point. They have their hands full with existing cases without digging up old cases.

This is one of the truest posts to ever appear on BGP. I salute you, Gatorlover. I would just add that, when some appear to be guilty, they also appear to have "influence" with the judge.

Oh I believe that their hand would be forced to get involved if some of the facts (info) come to fruition. The KHSAA would lick their chops for the mere publicity.

I have probably skipped about the last 6-8 posts....but what I'm reading is absolutely about as bizarre as any Rose Hill/Ashland thread or anything else I have read on this forum since I joined as the about the 100th member of BGP and spend some years moderating....I'm absolutely blown away with what I'm reading.

First, let me state...I don't claim to know it all, for all that know who NETS is...truly, you know that I'm about as unselfish as any human being could possibly be. I never whined or cried, especially on BGP when Morgan Co. had their best teams and were "under cut" for a couple of years prior to their state tournament team in 2004. Heck, I might as well say it now....

I've grown to know basically every coach and know a little about each basketball program, it's players, it's system and how things operate.

With all that setting the stage crap, that I just said, I want it to be clear that I do not know 100% of the facts of the Days of our lives Greenup Co. soap opera, but I can say this....In my professional opinion NATHAN SUTTON is about as personable, professional, and capable of leading a basketball program. I would never get on here and challenge the character of Nathan Sutton at any point. I've seen situations happen like this before...with a lot of "She said....he said....HIGH SCHOOL, junk"

It will be no wonder that anybody will look towards GC basketball with a raised eyebrow...future coaches looking for a job? Families relocating to the area?

I can't say a terrible word about Jim Bob Hicks either. When I have came to know him, he has been very nice to me. I have know Nathan Sutton several years longer and from what I gather from "INSIDE" sources and on my own frienship level I have, I'm just blown away that anybody could believe that he is the reason, fault, or blame...or even merely questioning his integrity about ACCEPTING his position. He is a Greenup County Musketeer, he gave every ounce of perspiration, sweat, and tear helping Greenup County become a regional power. What I've implied in some of these posts, are that in which HE is somewhat of a snake in the grass and that is Bush. Sorry.

Perhaps it's the bad mood I've been in all day from shoveling snow from a parking lot like I was fighting fire...or the many other things that just simply is frustrating...but MY GOODNESS, it has gone on to a whole new level now with this Greenup County stuff.

Like I stated earlier, I don't claim to know it all...never will, I'm not the greatest at anything, and IN MY CIRCLE of friends...I'M Mediocre, will always be....but I am a very good judge of character and can see right through people as soon as I meet them....and I think Nathan Sutton is doing an admirable job in a whizzz poor situation in which ignorance and a circus atmosphere is present. Personally I really wish Jim Bob Hicks the best of luck and think he is one funny and neat person to converse with...and I wish Greenup County the best in their search for a POSITIVE solution.

But please, when we post things on here, I wish we could stop the negative Spin, especially on people and pass judgment on motives, which we have no proof of in the first place.

I very ticked off NETS for multiple reasons....

And if another 3 man crew tells a coach in this region "IT'S NOT MY AREA"...I will just give up...:D :D :D Just kidding zebras and coaches.....well, maybe...
