Michigan Fires Sherrone Moore

Featured Replies

A little shocking after 9-3 season sources say that Michigan is firing Moore. This is being reported on ESPN that sources have told Pete Thamel, Dan Wetzel, and even Adam Schefter. Very interesting.

  • You say that like Lane wouldn't leave LSU for Alabama now. ? He probably stopped unpacking boxes last night as soon as the rumors started to fly, just in case.

  • And now ESPN is reporting Moore has been detained by police in Saline, Michigan and then turned over to police in Pittsfield Township, Michigan. This one is getting kind of weird.

From CBS Sports:

"Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately," Manuel said in a statement. "Following a university investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and UM maintains zero tolerance for such behavior."

I'm guessing coach Moore and or the other participant are likely married.

It sounded to me on ESPN that they were not married but I am sure we will here it all before long. Adam Schefter did not look happy having to report this on Sportscenter he is a big time Michigan man he received his undergrad degree from there.

I have no idea but could you imagine if that standard applied to everyone.  From Google AI:

Estimates for the percentage of married people who cheat vary widely, but studies suggest infidelity affects between 20% and 25% of marriages. Specific figures from the General Social Survey (GSS) show that about 20% of men and 13% of women admitted to having an affair while married.

Do we know why?

Just looked everywhere I knew to look, no info out on that yet that I could find.

Woke up this morning with a wife, 3 kids, $6,000,000 job and a mistress on the side. Ends the day in a police station and has probably lost everything else...all because he couldn't keep it in his britches.

Read a couple places that he may have been detained as a way to protect him from harming himself.

That's just another layer of sadness to this story.

Just seems strange for him to be turned over to another PD if that's the case. I could see him going to a hospital or something like that, but a different PD leads me to believe there is more to it.

I had to read this paragraph beyond the first sentence.

I'm assuming the department he was turned over too had an Attempt To Locate out and when the second department found him he was then sent to them. I'd guess if this was because of threats to harm himself they would have then taken him to the appropriate facility.

ESPN is finally reporting that he is in custody because the police department is investigating an alleged assault.

Hard to track whats real and not real in this saga...Awful decisions by Moore. Has anyone found validity to the claims:

It was not just an affair, but he impregnated her and then paid for an abortion?

Did he salary actually increase by 55% in Year 3?

Did the mistress and wife actually follow each other on Instagram?

One has to wonder how common this is or isn't....Would venture to say most Division I football staffs have women in support staff or on-campus recruiting roles...
