Final. Now the question is what will the CFP Committee do tomorrow with Alabama?

I have to think if Bama didn't play today they would be in.  I know that is not apples to apples but all of us know what I mean.

I agree, if they didn't play today they'd be in 100%. I think unfortunately for them, playing for a conference title will boot them out of the playoffs.

Ole Miss, Oregon and Oklahoma got to sit home and coast into the playoffs...it is what it is.

Right, punishment for being successful.

Bama will be out, DeBoer should have went to Happy Valley because his seat is fixing to get mighty hot!

Alabama shouldn’t get in, they lost 3 games.

So penalize a team that has bunch of injuries and plays in a game that ultimately doesn’t matter except for possibly moving them to a 5-7 seed.? Meanwhile, ND(again) and Miami sit at home and get in? Mikes sense!!

Get rid of the title games.

I think the plan was for Bama to be in, no matter what. Which is the real reason they moved Bama ahead of Notre Dame, even though they didn’t look good against Auburn last week. They moved them ahead, so in case Bama lost like they did today. They can just flip flop Bama and Notre Dame again, but keeps Bama in it. If they kept Bama behind Notre Dame going into this, then would have been harder to keep them in.

So I fully believe the plan was for Bama to be in even if they lost. The problem now though is how they lost today. As Georgia dominated them. Then when you add in not looking good last week, and then two weeks ago also losing. That is three out of the last 4 weeks they haven’t looked good. So it may get interesting now.

It essentially comes down to them and Miami now IMO. Which unfortunately for Miami, I think the committee will go with Bama.

If that is the case then the process is even more corrupt than I imagined.  That is the committee preemptively managing perception.

Completely agree! Get rid of conference championship games. Change it to 20 teams, and go with the old BCS computer model to select the 20 teams. Teams 1-12 gets a bye in round one. While teams 13-20 play. Which essentially would take the place of this conference championship week, and would get you then down to 16 teams. The higher seed gets to play at their actual home field for the first two rounds. Once you get to the final four, you go to the neutral sites.

I think that would be great.  Additionally, I believe the hub bub this year will have the powers that be changing/adding teams.   And you know, if it was just an agreed upon algorithm none of this would be an issue.  People may complain, but it would all be straight up.

But what was that, two or four teams?  Of course everyone is going to hate that.
