In the last 5 meetings between X and T, the Rocks are 4-1 and have averaged 36 points per game on the Tigers, including a 50 burger this season. Might want to rethink who stays and who goes.

How did Coach Wolfe/Male fare against the Rocks over Coach Wolfe's career?

  • Congrats to Coach Wallace on his retirement.  2022 was a tough year for me. No team. Kevin let me be an analyst for him. Mondays watching them practice... impressive. Their culture, the way the a

  • I'd be fine with Coach Wolfe. He said in interview he would see where God wants him to go and a lot of praying goes on at St. X.

  • Congrats Coach Wallace!  Thanks for all the memories.  Enjoy your retirement.

Could they be trying to snag Cantwell?

Private school & state championship success. Locally known as well. With their new facilities it could definitely be an interesting move for him and possibly somebody to try and challenge Trinity for a long while.

I had heard that X may make a move for him, but by all accounts Cantwell is not going anywhere. Great fit between Cantwell and CAL, whereas I think it would be a very odd fit for him and X both.

I think Cantwell is the best coach in the state (and perhaps further), and X is obviously elite…but that doesn’t mean it would be a good marriage at all. Plus Cantwell + CAL is a combo in the middle of a historic run…

Some of them need to stay. Defense would be lost without the D-Coordinater involved.

A new coach would have to take a hard look at the last two play off losses.

The KEY to everything and I don't care who's coaching is JIMMIY's and JOE's.

I think you have to have both at that level but I hear you.

Glaser/Wolfe/Redmon had some absolutely dominant, loaded teams in their day that neither went undefeated nor won a championship...

Again, they had the dudes. Redmon was awesome at Male. Not so awesome at Wagner. Not on him but he didn't have the dudes.

Redmon won one title at Male after Bob got to Trinity despite having multiple NFL players come through there compared to the 1 pro at Trinity (Brian). You cannot tell me that coaching at the HS level isn't the most important piece of the puzzle.

4. No recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA – Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

Then there's Bob Beatty..... Who was no doubt the greatest Coach in KY HS history. He had a Porsche and never wrecked it. That too me is very difficult, because 98% of the coaches in the State would of wrecked it. But not a lot of people liked Bob because he did it his way. He still had some players and that still made him good, but what he did was made them GREAT.

He even said it in the news paper one year. "I'm the best jockey in town." Well the best jockey don't win the Derby with Mules.

I agree with @theguru you got to have both. The dudes help a lot. I have seen people have the Porsche and wreck the Porsche.

There was no lack of talent at X to explain the disparity of the last two playoff losses.

X beat Ryle in the regular season in 2024 and lost by 11 to Trinity in the regular season in 2025.

Then came the crash in the playoffs both years.

Hopefully the new coach will focus on developing all of the players  from freshman to senior year and developing more physical play on the line of scrimmage.

In fairness to X, both Ryle in 2024 and Trinity in 2025 were "on fire" when the Tigers lost to them in the playoffs.

I believe this is because when we change things it’s during the off season and do the same things throughout the year which start great, but get noticeable on tape and teams take advantage.

I was in new pizza joint by St. X and Coach Wolfe was coming in as I was leaving. I should have asked him if he applied for job. Lol.
