The stars have aligned in the West side of the 1A bracket and have provided us with rematches from last season in 2024. Kentucky Country Day will once again welcome in Newport for Regional Championship matchup. Kentucky Country Day won last year 14-12.

Who wins the 2025 matchup? Does Kentucky Country Day continue its quest for another State Semifinal matchup? Does Newport come to town and play spoiler?

What’s the health status coming into this game of each team?

Bearcats roll. I just hope Newport brings admin this year. They had a group of 5-6 students who caused major chaos last year.

Well this gets the thread off to a rousing start.  I was at game and didn't notice "major chaos" but then again who knows....

As far as the game is concerned Newport if 100% healthy can be a handful, but KCD should pull this one out.

Their last 5 games Newport has given up a combined 25 points and won the turnover battle each game. If they can continue to attack like last game where they had 25! TFL and 3 sacks it will be very interesting to see how the game develops. However I do believe the opposite side of the ball could be Newport’s downfall as I don’t know if they’ll be able to score enough points.  I think if they do win it’s because you see a pick 6 or kick return for a touchdown.

Has the offense changed for the good for Newport with the Conley kid at quarterback?

I would love it if Newport wins, but I think KCD is probably too much.

The wildcats travel to Louisville to face the bearcats in a 1A 3rd round battle. Newport's defense has been lights out lately, but can they keep it up against KCD?

I was there last year. Newport didn't cause any problems.

You weren't around postgame when those students tried to get into the locker room and wouldn't leave campus.

I was there. They didn't try to get into the locker room. I was there until Newport left the campus.

If Newport can not turn the ball over they’ll be in it at the end. Turnovers have been an issue all year for them.

I also was there until Newport left . It wasn’t Newport who started the problem.

It has. Looks totally different with him. I think he has just enough reps under his belt that he has a real grasp for what it is going to take from him to give his team an advantage.
