Gamecocks close, but no cigar again.  If they had any kind of consistent offense they'd be a top 5 team.  But their Oline is awful and they have 0 running game.  Their defense is really good.

I don't care how the season ends up playing out or who wins the CFP title.  The real winner this season is Tennessee.  They stood up to a self important QB whining about wanting more millions.  They told him to pound sand and he's currently doing nothing at UCLA.  Someone in Knoxville knew he wasn't worth trying to break the bank for.

HUGE STATEMENT by Texas A&M tonight, lots of crow burgers being served by them. I thought they had to beat LSU tonight to prove their ranking, and they have clearly done that. And I’m happy for them, can’t stand LSU since Brian Kelly got there.

I agree that they had to win this one to get some credit, but LSU isn't very good this year.

Only three ranked teams lost to unranked teams today #24 Arizona State lost at home to a good Houston teams 24-16. The #18 ranked Bulls of South Florida lost on the road to a good Memphis team 34-31 and the # 23 ranked Illinois lost on the road to Washington. There was two ranked teams had close calls to unranked teams #16 Virigina defeated North Carolina 17-16 in OT and Alabama had a come from behind win on the road at South Carolina 29-22. South Carolina led in the 4th quarter 22-14 before the Tide roared back scoring 15 points in the 4th quarter for the win.

Is this overall the weakest the SEC has been in 10, 15, 20 years?

There isn't one team in the conference that looks capable of winning the CFP. To be fair I guess there doesn't appear to be a huge favorite to win it across all of college football. 

Ohio State is #1, and may be the best team, but they haven't been and won't be tested until maybe the CFP Semis.

Indiana has a couple of big ranked wins and look dominant and maybe they are. But can we really believe in them until they beat the Buckeyes in B1G title game? If IU wins out and wins B1G that will far and away be the best resume in college football. 

Texas A&M, riding that ND win to the top. But through scheduling quirks, they miss Ole Miss, UGA, Bama,  OU and Tennessee. All they can do is beat the teams on their schedule, keep doing that then win in Atlanta they might prove they are for real and not the product of an easy schedule. 

The rest of the teams in the top 10 all have warts on their season. Any of them could win against anyone, but unlike past years they can everyone lose to an unranked team on any given Saturday.

I think maybe longer as a whole conference including everyone. Currently, Ohio State would be my pick to win the championship. So much of the change comes from the portal and all else that’s changed. All of the changes have leveled the field putting it mildly, which is going to change more. The SEC hasn’t seen its last championship, but when it is more likely is a good question.
