6A RPI Rankings - 2025

There is a lot of football left to be played. If T and X were to meet in the finals, that would be fine, but if T has to go to X's field for a home game, that's only because T must play at least 3 out of state games each season since most of the so-called Kentucky powers play Dodgeball and won't put us on their schedule so our RPI suffers from our schedule. Go Rocks!!!!!

  • The Rocks must have the worst win percentage in hypothetical games here on BGP than any other school. Usually we don’t start losing till just after a State Title. ?

  • Consider these 2 examples as the flawed nature of the RPI.  A brutal absurdity. Oldham County receives a .62 for defeating a mediocre 3A DeSales squad   St. X receives a .51 for losing

If Manual were to beat St. X in 3rd round then Trinity will be going to Manual in the semifinals. I see St. X, Manual, and Trinity winning their remaining games so not sure how much the order will change. St. X has PRP left which will hurt St. X's RPI but Trinity has Eastern who will hurt Trinity RPI so probably cancel out. The other factor is Trinity has two games left where St. X has three so St. X win % could go up more. Guess we'll see how it all shakes out at end of regular season.

I think Trinity and X are on opposite sides of the brackets. I may not fully understand it but think Districts 1-4 are grouped on one side and 5- 8 on the other.

As I understand it X would be grouped with Manual and South Warren and would not play Trinity until the final if X can get there.

Again I might not understand this fully.

The "east west" only applies 3rd round. 4th round, its based off remaining teams RPI rankings for seeding.

but it could happen.

South Warren isn't losing that #1 RPI seed, and its highly unlikely either X, Manual, or T would drop below Douglass, Ryle, Mad. Central or Oldham Co in the RPI standings.

So, barring any 1st or 2nd round upsets, Manual/X winner plays T, and South Warren plays the survivor of the remaining "east" 6a teams.

Looks like could be a St. X/Manual rematch in 3rd round of playoffs and potentially St. X hosting Trinity in semifinals.

Complete comedy.

2    DuPont Manual (Lost to St. X)
3    St. Xavier (Beat Manual, Lost to Trinity)
4    Frederick Douglass (Lost to Trinity)
5    Trinity (Louisville) (Beat St. X and FD)

The really sad part is this JOKE affects our home field for the playoffs. ?

I believe we are going to see the Rocks pay a visit to South Warren and give the Warriors a warm welcome to 6A.  WKU is available the day after Thanksgiving…..KHSAA website states 1500 capacity at South Warren.

All three of South Warren's State Championship teams 2015, 2018, and 2021 would have handled Trinity those years had they played.

When South is State Championship caliber, they are a problem.

When Trinity is an "up" Trinity team, I admit, they are untouchable for KY teams. BUT, this Trinity team is not one of those teams. Are they still the best in KY until proven otherwise, yes. Would South or X be scared to catch them in the playoffs... hardly.

Does South Warren only have 1,500 for bleacher seating?  The South Warren schedule may come back to haunt them. Manual is the only opponent that stands out this season.  The Warriors have smooth sailing until the semi-finals.

I'll be interested in seeing how playing PRP affects St. X's RPI. The SOS will go down but PRP's insane schedule should increase the opponent's opponents component.

Having the Smith father - son duo in charge there, I doubt that will be an issue. Wouldn't be surprised if they are using this stretch to prep for the Louisville teams, specifically X and T.
