I don't know the truth of the matter but one news report said the WWF (now WWE) fired Hulk over appearing in Rocky III because it violated his contract or something to that effect.

I know a lot of us are thinking this, but three in one week, wow, so many times coming in threes...

Hogan had been in and out of the hospital with health issues.

Vince Sr. released him for that.  Vince Jr. hired him back.  The rest, as they say, is history. 

My first favorite wrestler and alot of other kids as well. I’m 43 so when Hogan became the “man” for the WWF I was right there for it. I got to meet him twice at the Cincinnati Coloseum. He did his whole thing like he was talking to Mean Gene for us and we got to see his championship belt it was awesome. 
 

We all know the internet can be brutal no matter the occasion but there are some very funny memes involving the Hulkster and Undertaker. 

One of my favorite Hulk moments is when he slammed Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania.  That was impressive even if the Giant "helped" a little bit.

Maybe not the best technical wrestler ever (Seriously, the Leg Drop finisher?) but certainly the most charismatic and most famous of all time.

Not a great wrestler at all, but he knew how to listen to a crowd and react accordingly.  The Wrestlemania match between him & The Rock might be my favorite ever.  Both those guys were excellent at feeding off the crowd.

The term "iconic" gets tossed around like confetti sometimes, but it's appropriate here. This is a landmark moment in wrestling/sports entertainment.

Terry Bollea's legacy is a complicated one, but Hulk Hogan was one of the titanic figures of my childhood. 

His likeness adorned my lunchbox when I was 7-8.
