  • I am Coach Chard, and I will take the responsibility for that, however I can assure you my special teams coach got lit up because of that.

At this juncture who really cares how old a kid is.  This has gone on for years and is no different now.  Ages had zero to do with the game result last night, period end of story.

  • Dixie 14 Ryle 7   Great game, very physical battle.

Does anyone know what the final standing are? Are the matchup games? I'm guessing since there are 9 teams and Connor didn't beat anyone they don't play this next week?

Conner did beat Walton-Verona, but since they lost to all the teams in the conference then they're out for the final week of games. I suppose if Coach Rash tries to come up with another non-conference team for them to play then that could happen. I'm pretty sure Coach Lickert is looking for froshmore games this Saturday and next Saturday, both, so it's entirely possible that Conner's freshman team could end up playing New Cath's froshmore team.

The other interesting wrinkle is the fact that as of their game last night against Simon Kenton, Campbell County's freshman team has played 10 games. As @THUNDERBIRDS mentioned last night in this thread, freshman teams are limited to 10 games for the season, so I don't know that Campbell County is eligible to play in the games during championship week. Before the season started, Campbell County and Dixie juggled their schedule around a little and moved their game that was originally scheduled for October 2nd to play on August 20th. Then Campbell County put Bryan Station on their schedule for Sep 3 and scheduled a second game against Cooper on Oct 2, when Cooper was originally scheduled to have a bye week on Oct 2. End result was 10 regular season games for Campbell County - unless maybe for whatever reason they played a JV "froshmore" squad against Bryan Station or in one of the games against Cooper?

Anyway, if Campbell County already has 10 games in then their freshman team shouldn't be eligible to play more games, which would potentially put Simon Kenton hosting Conner next week.

I haven't seen any results posted yet from 2 of last night's games, but assuming Highlands and Ryle both won, the standings would be:

1 - Highlands (9-0)
2 - Covington Catholic (8-1)
3 - Dixie (6-3)
4 - Ryle (5-3)
5 - Cooper (5-5)
6 - Beechwood (4-5)
7 - Campbell County (4-6)
8 - Simon Kenton (1-7)
9 - Conner (1-8)

Not verified but I heard Highlands beat Cooper 35-0

Thus far the only games I've seen added to schedules for championship week are Highlands vs. Cov Cath and Ryle vs. Dixie. I checked Arbiter, Hudl, MaxPreps and both Cooper & Beechwood's athletics websites but didn't see anything showing up there to confirm whether or not they have elected to go ahead with their 5th place game.

Championship Week
Wed Oct 29 Dixie Heights at Ryle 6:00pm (3rd Place Game)
Wed Oct 29 Covington Catholic at Highlands 6:30pm (1st Place Game)

The Dixie v Ryle game is at Dixie.

And per what was sent out to us, Beechwood is at Cooper Wednesday at 6pm.

Thankya. Ryle's website was showing the game at Ryle when I checked.

I’m assuming that this game won’t be live-streamed? Would love to watch it.

Wow Dude!!

Dixie 22

Ryle 6

Kamarea Anderson with 2 interceptions, with 1 being a pick six. Finished the year with 14 interceptions.

We fell short of our primary goal, but I'm so proud of this Dixie squad. They never gave up!  We finished 7-3!

Certainly something to build on for the Dixie football program.

Beechwood - 14

Cooper - 13

Tigers stop the Jags two point conversion with :30 remaining.

So I think that means the final standing were... please correct if wrong

1 - Highlands (10-0)
2 - Covington Catholic (8-2)
3 - Dixie (7-3)
4 - Ryle (5-4)
5 - Beechwood (5-5)
6 - Cooper (5-6)

Cooper finished 5-5. They were 5-1 and lost their last four games to CovCath, Dixie, Highlands and Beechwood.
