How big of an obstacle is the money in hiring a new coach at Cov. Cath?

Here is a link to a salary schedule from 2005/2006 at a bunch of catholic schools throughout the country. Covington is not on it, but Cincinnati, Owensboro and Columbus are. Could shed light on how much the catholic school teachers get paid.

I would assume Covington is closer to Owensboro in pay than it is Cincinnati.

If the Boosters gave the H FB Coach an additional chunk of money, they should do it for all their coaches.

I agree that CCH has an elite program, but let's not forget that they have elite programs in basketball, baseball (KYs all time winning coach), golf, soccer, swimming, and the list goes on....

Before you know it, they would be giving tens of thousands of dollars to these coaches and the kids and the programs would suffer! That money is for the kids.

Do I think that they should be creative in paying coaches? ABSOLUTELY.

I just have a hard time thinking that Bingo Night is going to aid the coaching stipends.

I agree

Boosters could make up the teaching difference and add it to the coaching stipend

I assume you mean individuals and not the official "athletic boosters" organization, correct?

Good question about X, T, and LC. I wonder if the head football coach at those schools takes home a good chunk more than at CCH? If so, why?

Those schools are not in the Covington Diocese. The CovCath head coach pay can't be too far out of line with Holy Cross and NewCath both of which are extremely low. IMO even if someone steped forward and said here is XXX amount each year for the head coach it would never fly.
