We heard a lot from the PT camp in 2024 about being the "best in the state," but many of us also looked at their schedule and scoffed about the prospects of them beating the big school top dogs. This schedule does little to convince anyone to put them in the conversation of stacking up against the 5A and 6A big boys.

From my understanding “the big boys” said no,Male and Central were the only ones who entertained the idea.  But there was a scheduling conflict with both. I guess they was able to make the central game happen though.

I will concede that the travel involved in playing PT is very problematic for most schools. For the big three of JCPS (Male, Manual, Central) bussing is a real issue. For Douglas out of Lexington and Highlands, Cov. Cath, Cooper, and Ryle out of the North, that is a brutal long trip. 

Logical games that should be on PT's radar are Trinity, St. X, CAL, BG, South Warren, and Owensboro. I can tell you for a fact that one of those absolutely did not say no to PT. 

In any case, South and PT should work out a deal with their Week 10 opponents to shuffle, having South play PT and Logan play Christian.

Owensboro and Paducah should definitely play more then they do.

At least they don’t have Russellville on the schedule why they scheduled that game the last two years is mind blowing. The only reason I can think of is they needed it to have 10 games and absolutely couldn’t find anyone else.

Russellville vs. Christian County would be a good matchup. 

Any idea who PT may be able to schedule?

PT was unworldy last year with a talented 5th year QB, SEC level tranfers, and a senior class for the ages. I obviously don't expect them to be on that level again but that doesn't mean they aren't in the hunt for a championship. I think they will go from arguably the best team in the state to a really good Western Ky team. They will still win the district and will still probably win 9 or 10 regular season games. I am not sure about a State title but it is certainly possible.

Tilghman has landed another high profile out-of-state transfer, this time from St. Louis, Missouri. 

Chance McPike Jr. (Class of '27) is a 6'1" 185 lb WR/ATH with offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Nebraska, Missouri, UNLV, Kent State, and Sacramento State.

I believe they have added an away game at Madisonville-North Hopkins on Sep 12 to fill out their regular season schedule, and they are now scrimmaging at Hopkinsville on Aug 8th instead of at Madisonville-North Hopkins.

I know Tilghman won't get any points, but what about Henry County in TN, Brentwood in Nashville, etc. etc. There's a few strong teams in Southern Illinois they could play. I don't think I would settle for a soft schedule. It doesn't really do you any good in the end.

Christian County and Hopkinsville are on tap to consolidate in 2026. In 2025 I expect a blowout and 2026 I would expect a thriller of a game at the Stadium of Champions with the Mega School, hopefully are no more delays with Consolidation over in Christian County.

I would like to see PT invited to play in the Rafferty's Bowl at WKU in the next cycle, I would say St.X, Owensboro,BG, CAL, Trinity,and South Warren wanted to play PT but the dates didn't work out.I definitely wouldn't want to play Boyle County because a very good chance you will see them in the playoffs. Either Semi State or the State championship game.
