Do they have an outside shot at bringing Blake Powers back to KY?  That would be an incredible hire.

  • Coach Mofield and I are from the same coaching tree. Wonderful man and excellent football coach. Congratulations on a very successful career!

  • Great coach and even better man.

My source tells me that, yes, Coach Mo is going to ride off into the sunset. Great career, but even a better man. Hate to see coaches with his character hang up the whistle but I understand.

John Proctor was the head coach between Devries and French.  Proctor was an internal hire.  Coincidentally enough, he came back to French's staff as OC after a one-year hiatus after giving up the head coaching position.  He was the OC for a few years before becoming strictly the Athletic Director.  He was a good coach.

Is John Proctor the father of current O Line coach, Sam Proctor?

No idea.  Good question.

I truly believe that this is one of the best jobs in the state. Two coaches in 40 years, great facilities, a lot of community support. Also, it's a one horse town. No one to compete over kids against. Should be a great job for attracting a good coach.

No doubt about all of that, however (and, this is one of those stats where it is in absolutely NO WAY, SHAPE or FORM reflective of coaching because as I've said and it's been stated by many, Coach Mo is IT)...Meade County the last 10 seasons is 17-49 vs 6A opponents.

Any news on this job?

Do they return some of their skill and QB? If so, they could be really good in their new district and region.  Their QB, Scott,  will be one the top QB's in the state and they had  a RB Rainey? that may have been best RB on the field against Manual.

Powers would be fantastic....would take a lot to get him from West Point. Maybe he would consider coming home?

QB (Scott) & RB (Rainey) return, along with a corner and OLB (throw in Rainey because he also started at one of their ILB's).

Other than that? They graduated the house as far as any others that touched the ball.

Upfront? Call it 2/3-3/4 of the guys that started/saw meaningful minutes lost to graduation.

Scott was a senior!

Chad Griffin from Hart Co was either offered the Meade Co. job or was turned down by Meade Co.

So is Blake Powers the guy?

Yes. Not official, likely tomorrow, but he is the hire.
