Lexington Catholic 36 Scott County 29 (OT)

Featured Replies

This I did not see coming looks like Catholic is coming around at the right time and Scott Co. maybe not so much.

This one surprises me.

The guy that does the Scott Co. games and writes for the Georgetown paper said that Andrew Hickey was laying in the endzone and the refs said he was a foot short on 4th down.

They are what they are at this point: a good team that isn't good enough defensively to beat top tier opponents, especially those with good offenses. They're allowing just over 40 ppg in losses, just under 12 ppg in wins.

Was SC missing anyone? Not trying to ask for an excuse to dismiss this. All credit to Catholic. I woke up and still found myself puzzled here.
McKee is now 2-8 against LC, I believe. Is it simply a match up issue?

Do teams that run this kind of offense not practice defense? I only ask that because it seems like Scott Co and JC can both score bunches of points but can’t stop anybody.

Not trying to make excuses, our defense gives up too much pass yardage. Starting guard, middle linebacker out and Rb went iut 1st drive of the 3rd quarter with a hamstring. I knew this was going to be a tuff game Lex Cath played a brutal schedule. They were a lot more physical than I expected.

I always hate questionable ending to games but I had warned some Scott Co. folks this week after watching LC play at Corbin that the LC team doesn't have any quit in them and they will hammer for 4 quarters. I was impressed with how much fight they had in them earlier this year.
