McCracken scored with 4.9 seconds left to win the game. The Mustangs scored 14 in the final minute when all Henderson had to do was kneel the ball and win the game. That old saying where you snatched defeat from the jaws of victory applies here. 

Wild one in Paducah tonight. Sounds like Hendo got a little greedy.

Wild finish. I listened to the radio broadcast at tail end and they said Henderson tried to run the score up rather than take a knee.

When you have the opportunity for victory formation, you take it every single time no matter what your feelings may be telling you. McCracken has to have a series of perfectly positioned circumstances to happen to even have a sliver of hope, and they got it. 

It's inexcusable for Henderson to lose this game in my mind.

I agree.

Colonel defense decides not to come back from fall break. The last two games Henderson County holds Owensboro Catholic under 30( which I will guarantee nobody else on Catholic's schedule will do)and holds MAYFIELD to 14 in double overtime. THIS week gives up 59 to the Mustangs. 

I know it's high school football and anything can happen. McCracken played hard, but Trinity or Boyle they are not. No excuse for losing this game, let alone giving up 60.

They call it victory formation for a reason. 

Put this down as The Marquette Stadium Miracle, I was there. Henderson scored on some wide open passes, McCracken scored on some tough catches. Number 22 for Henderson ran the ball better than anyone I have seen this year, he must have had over 150 yards if not more. McCracken had several long runs as well. They both should play again at McCracken in playoffs.

 

Cover 2 in that situation?  The inside WR had single coverage from the safety with a MLB trying to help…..why in the world wouldn’t you be in cover 4 and keep everything in front of you?  Great coaching there as well.

Another observation, Henderson doubled Falconite on every play. basically, taking him out of the game. He did catch one in the back of the endzone almost sitting down with 3 defenders around him.

This is why you see professional and collegiate athletes sliding on breakaway runs when they could easily score…. Never pass up victory formation, I’m sure this will be the last time the Henderson staff makes that mistake. 

Congrats to Coach Brooks and McCracken.

McCracken had a chance, but couldn't convert on a first down late in the game when they had a lead. Mobile QB's give McCracken the most trouble as their DB's are small.

McCracken didn’t score on any tough passes… The QB hit every target in stride and only where his receiver could catch it.  McCrackens defense is awful, their offense won this game for them.  Henderson gave everything they had and still couldn’t win.  Just like the last time they met last year in playoffs… not a coincidence.  Hard for a PT guy to understand, but Mustangs maybe better than you want to believe. Have to be pretty decent to overcome a defense that is that bad lol.  McCracken has been in every game this season and should have won them all with exception of the PT game.  PT is just on a different level than everyone this year.
