I can't believe the cats punted with 2 or 3 minutes left thry should have went for it.

They did get the break they needed to win the game, Georgia fumbled and we had 3 guys looking at each other and the coaches for who was supposed to be covering him and the champion program has 1 guy go in and recover it, in that time/score situation to quote Remember the Titans, “you’ve got to be like a starving man on a Christmas ham”!!

I believe this was a case of - even behind by a point - of playing not to lose instead of stepping on the gas and playing to win. 

I love the fight in the team yesterday. I thought the defensive game plan was great. Even though the offense didn’t score much, I think they had a solid plan too. 
 

The biggest difference in the game IMO was Kirby Smart played to win the game. While Stoops as usual played it conservative. 
 

Before half very easily could have taken at least one shot to the end zone before kicking the field goal. Instead he took a timeout with 9 seconds left after a first down to kick a field goal. If he was worried about not having anymore timeouts, then should have clocked the ball after the first down to save that timeout. 
 

Then at the end of the game it is 4th and 7. You are basically 11 yards away from being in field goal territory. You have to go for it there with 3 minutes left. Even if you do get stopped, you still have 3 timeouts left and the 2 minute warning to still have a shot.
 

In both end of half scenarios Stoops played the conservative route. Smart on the other hand instead of worrying about incompletions possibly stopping the clock. He let his offense go out and be aggressive to try to win the game by mixing in some passes to get first downs and not just playing it safe running the ball.

Once it got to 4th and 8, the smart play was to punt it with with 3 timeouts and a 2 minute warning. That could have gotten the ball back to UK with plenty of time. The problem was, UK had a defensive lapse on one play and allowed UGA to get out to midfield and run more clock. 

UK had only a handful of plays that went for over 8 yards all night, the smart play was to punt it and just get another stop.

Agree. I would have rather run a punt fake there than go for it on 4th and 8 with the offense.

I saw Stoops is now 2-29 against SEC teams with a winning record. I know the SEC is tough but as good as Kentucky has been of late you would think would have more of those wins.

Very solid performance by Ky last evening. Stadium was full of energy from the first kick to the last second, needed a little luck but just didn’t happen, on to OhioU this Saturday and don’t overlook this team.
