Well we are here again, Brian Weinrich hosts his old school where he played and coached for many seasons.  He has yet to get a win against his alma mater.  This Friday that streak should continue.  The Camels are actually playing good football this season putting a lot of points up on Scott winning 63-27 and then giving Beechwood a nuisance until late in the 4th quarter when Beechwood was able to pull a way with a win 42-20.  Even with that said, the Camels just don't have enough to challenge the Birds.

Highlands should continue to do Highlands.....RUN, RUN, RUN!!!  They have one of the biggest and best Offensive Lines in NKY and possibly up there in the State of Ky.  Jack White is the leading horse behind that line running for around 110 yard average in this early season.  I wouldn't be surprised if Highlands tries to open up the play calling with a little more passing this game to get the receivers some love....Need to see Rio get a nice game of consistency on passing the ball.  I like the idea of some mid range routes, he's thrown already a few picks on his long balls.

Highlands has rattled off 7 straight wins against the Camels since the unfortunate loss the Birds took back in 2016.

Game time:  7PM

Should be a nice night for some football, current forecast is 79 degrees during the day with it dipping to the mid 50's at night.  What a drastic difference from just this past Friday when we pushed so many games to a later time due to heat.  Welcome to Kentucky weather I guess.

If Highlands throws more than 5 passes in the first half, it is a bad game plan.

Can you elaborate?

Is it a bad game plan b/c the Birds should just scrap the passing game for 2024 and just be one dimensional all season?  Bad game plan b/c the Camels have the "Swat Team" as DBs?

I hate one dimensional football, I feel like they still need to sprinkle in some passing play calling to keep the defense honest....I just want them to broaden the pass play calling to not only being long ball or screen pass option....where is the nice 5 - 10 yd crossing patterns?  Utilize Tommy Ferring and Lorenzen as TEs with those short routes....By all means I am not looking for Rio to throw the ball 20 times but let's not paint ourselves in the corner against a team like Campbell County and run 90% of the time.

I think Highlands can have success being one dimensional in this game - and I am only talking game plan for this game.

I don't think the Campbell County defense can stop the Highlands running game and I think the best part of Campbell County's defense is their pass defense.

Very good answer, thanks for the elaboration/clarification!

Campbell is really small up front defensively.  With that O line Highlands could run the ball every play and running clock The Camels.  Campbell QB is solid and #14 is a really good receiver and safety but he won’t be enough in this one.  Highland by whatever they want.

Birds will both Pass and Run in this game. They can do both against the Camels and win, but I  think they will pass more than in both of the first two games, just because they can. They will hold them to 14 or less with the defense stepping it up this week also.

Will this be a game where the backup QBs get a little varsity experience? I know Rio got the opportunity last year.
