  • Just for fun, I went back to see how many Douglass players and Purples players actually played in the 2022 State Championship game (the only game these 2 teams have played before). That would mea

BG by at least 10.

I was honestly going to say we were going to lose by a touchdown, if I had commented on this post initially.  After seeing practice Sunday and today, I got Douglass winning 28-14 on the road. Defense wins championships.

That must’ve been one hell of a practice (or two) ?

Ticket prices increase on Friday night!  Just so you know!

I'm taking the Purples in the poll.

Skill positions should match up pretty well. My primary concern(s) will be in the trenches. If BG holds up there, I think the game sets up well for them. If not, then it's going to take a large effort to overcome a team like FD.

I'm not ready to make my pick yet, but I think it could come down to whoever has the ball last.

I'm trying not to base my prediction off of their last scrimmage performances. I need to think on this a few days.

Ok ok ok.

After much deliberation, and reading through all the comments of more knowledgeable members, I'm going with BG and hometown advantage. This should be a barn burner though.

BG- 31

FD- 28

Reluctantly.

Bowling Green 28-14.

This is not an easy game to predict.  I can see either team winning. 2 potential state champions in their class.   I will say if one team wins the turnover battle by 2, that team will win.   Deuce Bailey is so cool, never gets rattled.   Will BG defense start slow like 2023?  Or will it start dominant like the end of 2023?   Douglass great players and Smith is a phenomenal back.  I look for a great game there.   As far as my guess, I’ll roll with the purples in a lower-than-expected score of 21-17 BG.  Great scheduling by both teams win or lose!

Gotta change the prediction. Gotta go Douglass 20, BG 14 in OT. New developments on the horizon.

You've went BG by a score initially , to Douglass by two scores, to Douglass by 6 in OT.

You've had a wild week. It honestly sounds fun lol I'm going to have to meet you one day ?
